We are getting lots of inquiries on this subject so thought I should make this post.

Now thru 11/30/06 any P1 system purchased with XP Professional O/S qualifies for a free upgrade to Windows Vista Business Edition. Here is the Microsoft redemption site when ready:

Vista is not available yet but when it is you need to activate the OS first to go thru the validation, plus it goes by when you first activated it, per MS details for eligibility see below. If you are using a Firewall be sure that your firewwall is not blocking the validation process.

Qualifying PC’s purchased with Windows XP after 10/25/06 are eligible for Express Upgrade to Vista. To redeem your Vista/Office 2007 upgrade refer to the coupon that came with your PC.

To start the redemption process, please make sure you have activated your copy of Microsoft® Windows® XP software so it can be validated as genuine. Then select your version of Windows XP software below. Be sure to redeem your BONUS PACKS* by March 17, 2007.

I assume this means that Portable One PCs purchased now with XP are not eligible for the Vista upgrade? Or has this been extended?

I thought it was with all OEM copies of XP after 10/25...

Remember the Vista upgrade program is for all Microsoft licenses from all mnfr's and per the above states 10/25 and after; not sure how you got not eligible now....but it is for all licenses purchased from 10/25/06 up until they finally launch Vista licenses.
