I updated the Wireless Driver for Averatec 2370 from RALINK which I got from another Averatec Owner. HOwever, now the device shows up as a USB device and I can get the "Safely Remove Hardware" prompt in the lower right window of my Laptop. It should be an onboard device not an external device. ?

How do I change it..? It doesn't matter to the functioning, but it should not be showing up like a USB flash drive which one can "remove"

What version of the driver did you install? I would say that either it's the wrong driver as Ralink makes both USB and internal miniPCI cards. Also, all their literature says to remove the old driver before any upgrade. It may have conflicted if you didn't.

My 7155 has probably the same wireless card as all the rest of the Averatec models. My driver is 1.0.3.0. I have a copy of the driver but it may be the same as the one you've gotten. You may wish to uninstall all the drivers for this and try a fresh reinstall. If you need a copy let me know but it may be too large for email attach. (nearly 15 megs).
