I have a wireless router in my house and I roam around with my laptop around the house. I have noticed that when I have a power adapter plugged into my laptop it can use the wireless signal. However, if the power cord is not plugged into a wall the computer won't be able to use the wireless signal.

I have a D-link by the way, which is what most people would call the ' the devil'. I have also gone over to a friend's house and been able to use his wireless signal without plugging my laptop into the wall. Seems kinda strange but my wireless signal is boosted with a power supply. Is there a way to fix this?
