Been using my IFL90 for a while now, but for some reason, I just noticed something yesterday.
It's a small bright spot that's shaped like a "C" turned 120 degrees clockwise. It's about the size of a 6 or 8 pt font. (1440x900 screen).
It's not a dead or stuck pixel, as the color changes as usual. It's just slightly brighter than the others around it.
I originally thought it was dirt, but after cleaning the screen, I examined it more closely and it looks like it is under the glossy plastic, so it's not on the surface of the screen.
It's unoticeable unless you view bright colors (not white or black, but say light gray, blue, red, etc) and especially noticeable when viewing off angle.
Because of this, it's impossible to photograph, and if sent in, PNB techs may not notice it and send it back untouched.
Is it worth getting repaired? If not, I would like PNB to know that I notice this problem so they have it on record in case it gets worse so they won't say I did it.
thats what happened to my first IFL90 I bought from PNB (a Sager). I noticed minor scuffs on the cover (and I do mean minor - again, VERY unnoticable, so I didn't care). when I returned it to get it exchanged for the PowePro (because the Sager was giving me so much trouble in the first place and had to be RMAed 2x), they charged me $50 for those barely noticable marks that I didn't put on there. Sometimes I wonder if it was after the RMA when the scuffs appeared (making it not my fault).
whatever the case, I do you think letting PNB know is just bothering them with something minor, or is something that's good for them to document?
And of course, is it worth sending it back for repairs?

imo if it was me i would do something about it but im ocd with my notebooks. but yeah even when i sent back my first 5791 for exchange they told me if they found any blemishes or scratches they would charges for them.. call them up and ask them thats the best thing to do maybe they will tell you to place a small piece of something by the spot to make it more visable or something like that..

I have something like that, but in my case it's something inside LCD panel that partly blocks light, maybe some dirt even. Though I think it's not worth changing it, since I’ve got zero dead pixels, and there is no guaranty that I'll get back without them. And then there is no chance replaying it, unless you'll have 5+ dead pixels at once. Friend of mine got 3 and they refused to change it.
So IMHO, unless it's really noticeable and annoying, warranty changing is not worth it.
Here is how it looks:

I thought I had something similar on my previous laptop, it turned out to be a watermark from the Omega video drivers I was using... probably not applicable in your case though.

If you haven't already notified our support department, please PM me with your name and I will make sure to note the issue on your account in our database. If you have access to a good digital camera (e.g., not a cellphone), try taking multiple high-res photographs at various angles on a background that shows the blemish as clearly as possible. Our support team is willing to scrutinize those images as closely as possible to try to see and identify the issue. Just email [email protected] and tell them that Tim requested the photographs.
Worth getting repaired?
