We have made enquiries with Paypal about setting up an account with them. Would this be an advantage to our customers? I know the UK and German sites have limited payment options so we would like people feedback on this matter.

I dont see any advantige really because you accept credit cards already. People pay by Paypal and then pay Paypal by credit card is no better then buying by credit card directly. Some people complained about the extra charges when paying be credit card, will this be less then by Paypal?

Only advantige I see is that Paypal has some buyer protection but I think most people trust Zepto. It might also cause you some headaches when people dispute the charges even if you send them the laptop. Paypal is a bit messed up that way.

In the UK we cannot accept maestro or certain debit cards so. Maestro especially is very widely used as well as visa electron . It could well reduce the card cost quite significantly. Also it would allow people to transfer money directly from their Bank, debit card, credit card , post office account or paypal itself, which a lot of people in UK use for things like ebay

Sounds like a good deal then.

In Germany you can already pay by bank transfer and "Nachnahme" (no idea what this is called in english. You pay the postman delivery guy, when the laptop arrives, with debit card or cash and the postel company pays Zepto). So I dont see much need for paypal here.

Yes, Paypal or Google Checkout would be great.
However, how much of the seller fees would you pass onto the customer. That is the big question.
The reason people use Paypal on ebay, is firstly because of the integration with ebay, convenience, and lastly, knowing that the fees are paid by the seller.

Think Paypal is a good idea but Google Checkout would be an even better one definitely... £10 off for first £30; a masterstroke!

Paypal will charge Zepto fees for all orders because they have to upgrade to a business account.
