Im thinking of going 64-bit, but my concerns are drivers and programs. Are there drivers for 64-bit XP for the IFL90? And will my games and programs work fine? I'm a programmer and know my apps will work as long as it has the .Net Framework2, but will any program I download work (like Gimp, Comodo Firewall and Rivatuner)? What about games like Crysis, Halo and Battlefield 2?

I tried 64-bit Vista, not 64-bit XP, but you will likely find the same results...

Almost everything worked just fine. Games and general software all worked fine, even if they were ever only built for 32-bit windows. Studio2005 was weird, and I always got a popup telling me I should run it as an administrator or something (details hazy after many months), but that might just have been Vista being Vista. All the .NET software I'd written worked fine, as did plain old C code. Quake4, Doom3, and Fear ran fine (with newer drivers from laptopvideo2go), but bumping laptop to 4gb definitely made them run smoother -- vista was a real hog.

Drivers in general were easy enough to find, but the VPN software (CheckPoint) I needed for work was not available for either 64-bit Vista or 64-bit XP. At any rate, I'm sticking with 32-bit XP for the foreseeable future.

don't worry, there are plenty of drivers for xp. you can always get them off the equipment man. site like nvidia if needed. you may need to slipstrean your sata drivers into an install disk w. nLite, real easy to do. It's still hit or miss on the games. our desktop has a dual boot w/ vista ult 64bit and xp 64 bit. needless to say, we like XP for most gaming, but it will all be changing soon............

I got mine from ibuypower.com, I am very satisfied with the quality, style and reliability, but I wanna get 64-bit to utilize my cpu's 64-bit capability. I payed $1300 and got a T7700, 512mb 8600mGT, 160gb hd and 2gb of ram. I run Crysis medium-high with 29fps, COD4 ith 60+fps, Halo with 120+fps and programming/animation is handled with ease. Just don't get Vista, you'll lose something like 5-15% performance, go with XP Pro.
