    Make sure you use the Ralink utility for your wireless setup as well. Make sure the windows software is used to configure otherwise you will still have your connection dropping on a regular basis

    I tried the new drivers and it seemed to decrease my signal strength and slowed my connection down. Any ideas? I rolled the driver back to one they shipped it with and everything seemed to improve except for occasional dropping.

    Keep in mind this link was for the Raylink wireless on the 6130 series. By the trailer of your post, "Jim averatec 6240", I am guessing thats your model #? If thats the case, then that itself may explain your issue.

    If not, I would roll back that driver...use what works best! Lord knows software and hardware dont ALWAYS produce the same results on different setups.
