XoticPC selling OCZ Whitebook (Arima W840 DI) - nice!

As soon as reviews are out I'm going to order it. The only thing I'm debating on is getting a shield / painting/ or etching

Is it me or did KI lower their price? 2679 seems cheap for what you get. (only like 250 more than Xotic, but you get tweaks)

I just noticed that the BluRay at XoticPC is a read only. K|N Nagamaki is a read AND write BluRay drive.

 

Does this notebook have which drive? Read or write/read?

 

It can come from OCZ with a blu-ray READ ONLY drive, but it is possible that Mark over at K|N is popping in a blu-ray burning drive instead and switching the bezel. I suggest you contact him personally.

 

How would 2 ATI HD3870s stand up against 9800 GT/GTXs in Sli?

 

There's a sample unit on Xotic forums with pics. Untweaked, out-off-the-box it's getting 14761 3DM06..not too shabby.

if the nagamaki can play crysis on high at 1900*1200 and still get good fps, then u can obviously count on it maxxing out cod4 and ut3.

K|N is offering 300GB HDD's @ 10,000 RPM, the others do not.

K|N is offering the latest 80 GB Intel X25-M SSD, the others do not.

At least not yet.

 

He should post a picture of ALL these systems he has. That would be cool.

At the GoG Killer Notebooks said they bought up every system in the US on the first shipment and that every other company only got one or two. I would be interested to see who was for real.

Looks like the 10,000 RPM hard drives will not be compatible with the W840 DI. Bummer!

But K|N has the QX9300 in stock in case someone is interested.

Well the only thing i can say is I guess we will see very soon.

Only thing I know is he actually took pictures of the boxes with the laptops in them when he recieved them. Also he recieved the evaluation model way before all the other reseleers as he claimed. So in any event I guess we will see =)

So the question beckons who has them in stock and how many?

 

The post X2P quoted above is 100% false, which likely can be verified with OCZ direct. Many sellers received more then 10-15 units.

Those that had purchasing power of more then 10-20 received larger volumes on the first shipments which we acquired as well as others. We have had stock since last Friday and this week have received all remaining versions (single GPU and Blu Ray models).

 

I love being quoted a week after I post.

xoticpc surely has it in stock, my laptop just went on production phase since yesterday, most likely ill be in the first patch to be shipped too, and who cares about picture of some boxes i just want to see my precious thats all that matter

I have been following this thread for a while.

I also remeber when the post int his forum orginally occured. Justin responded with something along the lines of :

"That was an old phone number we only used for a short period of time" - Please note might not have been the exact phrase im just to lazy to go 8+ pages back to find it.

So if it was an old number they used to use while they were having troubles how would he have access to the phone logs??

Just some food for thought. and trying to bring all the facts to light, since no one cleaered the air in regards to my first post those several pages back.

placed my order last night.. I'm curious. Is there somewhere that has a true benchmark on this system? I see people excited to receive it.. I see people excited to wait for it.. But, are there any TRUE consumer benchmark results? 3dmark, crysis..whatever. Any help is appreciated.

 

There are benchmarks here." Several people have sytems in hand with x9100's, Q9200's and QX9300's some over clocked, some stock so you can get a wide variety of scores to compare.

You may also find there an issue with the Turbo Memory as it is not supported in this notebook at this time.

Turbo memory is not working currently. OCZ has "guaranteed it will be supported" so time will tell.

its not working right now, but new BIOS from OCZ enabling it is on the top of their to do list right now.

Mark has said that if you buy Turbo Memory, and it doesnt work, he will refund it.
