As I remember, didnt you get 1GB RAM? Unfortunately stutters with 1GB of RAM are a well known issue with that game, as it chews up ****e loads of mem :(

Hmm, is the stutter problem a laptop isolated issue?
I ordered 2gb ram for my 6615, but i only have 1gb on my stationary, and i never had problems.

But i dont use any other that the standard gfx options, with no eye candy.

Juan Ker, I have a suggestion. You should try loading the game with settings you are using when it shutters. Then ALT+TAB out, and take a look at the performance tab in your task manager, and see what the RAM/MEMORY load is. If you are at close to or above 1gb, try and turn down the gfx settings to low quality and the resolution down.
The do the ALT+TAB thing and check that task manager again and see what the MEMORY usage is.
Ohh, and check if there still is any stutter. If there is none, then i would think its a memory issue, and the extra gig should help.

using high textures requires 2gb. only use medium textures with 1gb. otherwise you'll be using your hard drives virtual memory...and if its a 5200rpm disk its not going to help at all...

My experience with more ram is that BF2 runs with 1gb as well as with 1.5gb, it just starts faster with more ram.

Are you playing BF2 with the native screen resolution?

Anyway, my 6615WD, will it ever arrive, will come with 2gb...

I hope that my posting didn't bother you. It was just my impression that ingame my xp2600+ 1gb ati 9600xt did as well as my xp3000+ 1.5gb 6800gt (letting graphics aside), just the 1.5gb machine started the game faster (since I added the third 512er bar)... Now that some of my clanmates have Conroes and 2gb I join the game when they already captured their first command post...

Can you please post in which resolution you play? Is native 1280*800 fine or did you reduce to xga? Did you have to decrease range of sight (or whatever the right translation of "sichtweite" might be)? That would be terrible...

I use native 1280x768, my whole problem is finding the sweetspot in the settings, this can be complicated if say you are playing warlord on Specialforces and have 30 guys fighting over the palace :p

I fanally got my 6615 and i spent 7 hours setting it up and getting to know my new Zeppi.
I just finished installing the 1.4 BF2 patch and i started it up.. Is there no widescreen resolutions at all in BF2?
It came as a complete shock that i couldnt choose any, do you all play in normal non wide resolutions?

And what nvidia drivers do you use, Zepto's or direct from nvidia's website, and if from nvidia, what is the name.
I downloaded the drivers for GeForce Go 7xxx series, but no go, my hardware was not supported by the drivers?

    Cheers

    Hi zombie4ever,

    finally you got yours :D
I envy you so much ;)

There's that nice Widescreengamingforum which has a solution to play bf2 with the native 6615WD resolution - however the FOV is not corrected, so things will look stretched. There's also a fix for that problem, but you won't be able to play punkbuster enabled servers without being kicked. You have to edit manually the start parameters for Battlefield 2 (and every mod) and add the values for horizontal and vertical resolution...

Then there's another nice homepage to help notebook owners with nvidia graphics... You still have to read some text. As always the F.A.Q. is a good point to start from. IIRC nvidia drivers for desktop graphic adapters won't work with the notebook gpu's.

And if you managed to solve all of your graphic driver and BF2 resolution problems it will be the time that I will have my own one and come back to you to help me with all that stuff :D

I would very much like to post something about the laptop, but i wont have much time to test it.
I would like to have a good long wow session, and get back into bf2 for a while and see how it does.

I did test the webcam and microfon last night, and it worked okay.
There was some sound "tics" that was annoying, but other than that i liked it.

But the microfon pics up everything you do, every mouse click, keystroke, cd drive spinup, and it can be pretty darn irritating for the person on the other end.

I havent test teamspeak yet, but im pretty sure i would be asked to find another mic to use.
So i guess the mic is only practical if you dont do anything else on your computer while using it.

But i guess ill get into that once i get down to writing something review like.

One last thing, i find the keyboard good and responsive.
On some older zepto laptops had problems with the keys not responding, unless you press harder that you would like to.

    Cheers

again only if you use high textures, as it "loads" each texture as it appears on the screen and therefore takes a while to "stabilise" until you go through most of the level and all the textures have been cached. medium textures will play fine with 1gb
