I wanted to have the opinions of 6214W owners especially the matte screen. I've already read the test. But I want more information about : light leakage ? angle ?, reflection of the glossy screen ? (a bit/a lot )

I have the matte screen, its a gaming screen as far as laptop screens go.
its viewing angles are poor however, but then with a laptop which is designed for gaming, viewing angles shouldnt matter.

the matte gives no reflections and works well in the garden, however it doesnt have the brilliance of glossy screens.

    Hi,

I went for the glossy screen. I don't use it outdoors as a rule, and have yet to find a situation where it is a problem. I am very impressed with it, the contrast is fantastic, better tan any screen I have ever used, it makes photo editing a joy. Games look pretty good too.

There is a bit of light leakage at the bottom, I noticed it the first time I switched it on, but it has never been an issue so I haven't done anything about it. It is only noticeable at all on boot with a completely black screen, I guess some DVD scenes may show it as well, but not anything I've watched so far.

As Juan said viewing angles are not good, with vertical positioning being particularly critical, but not any different from other laptops I've seen.

Is it enought so as to watch a film with the laptop on a desk? For everyday work does it obstruct ?

that all depends how far you move off centre, remember this is a laptop, you can turn the whole machine to point right at you, the screen can also be tilted forward and back

This viewimng angle annoys me, I thought all laptopscreens since about 1999 would have atleast 170 degrees in all directions. :(
