Hi I was just wondering about this http://uk.zepto.com/Shop/Config.aspx?configurationid=290¬ebookid=644
I just noticedthe 12 months pick up and return you have to choose yourself and tick the box which increases the price but I think I read elsewhere that the 12 months warranty comes as standard? Really annoyed about this, thought I'd be getting that system for 586 now I find out warranty isn't included?
Would be glad if someone could clarify the situation, I did some searching of threads and all I found was this:
found that in this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=121953&page=3
Thanks

The 12 month pick up and return service is included in the price of every notebook. In the shopping cart however it splits the price of the notebook and the service but it is still keeping with the price of the notebook price that was configured on the previous page

I've just run through that configuration.
At the moment the headline price is £529, but it jumps to £586 when you go to the configuration page. When you get to the checkout it becomes £627.11 (+£16.11 for credit card surcharge and £25 for delivery).
So the £529 is misleading. It's not possible to get it at that price even if you go to Zepto with the cash and collect the notebook in person.I suspect that something was left out of the £529.

hmm I'm sure that's just changed I'm getting a price of about 557 now inc the warranty instead of about 620 last night..(this is leaving config as normal but bumping the RAM upto 2gb 667) or maybe I was hallcuinating because I was stupidly tired. Lol at the credit card charge and the delivery... ok so I'm at like 557 now then it goes upto 600 altogether, so I know where I stand.
Now I was wondering would a T5250 processor limit performance on most games or is it enough for now? Also wondering if you can tell that the screen is really small because it's 14" and if this is an issue when playing games. I wanted to go for the 6625WD but my dad is being really stubborn and won't budge on the price even if I pay the excess on my budget by like £200... something to do with you're going to uni to study not to play games and "it's not about the money it's about controlling the spending"... lol
The reason I'm going for this instead of the vostro 1500 is that the build quality on the vostro isn't meant to be too good and I have heard dell on the whole are going downhill in build quality. I ordered one the other day and the cc payment failed due to fraud prevention where barclaycard stop payments that are out of the ordinary, so barclaycard ring us and tell us and we say it's ok so they let us put it through. Ring dell to find out what the situation on the payment is and they take 1 hour to tell me being put through department to department and then someone hung up on me as well half way. This really annoyed me and I am not happy with their cust services so would people say its wise going for this 6224 instead of a vostro 1500 and losing a lot of the specs? -
For the 14" question. 14" is not very big, but you can still play games confortably on it. I find using a laptop keyboard much more annoying when playing games than any other aspect of the laptop.
The 14" screen makes the laptop easy to carry around (fits in your backpack...its no bigger than a big notebook (a real one made of paper)).With a 17" it's another story.
What I would personnally suggest you to do instead of paying £200 for a bigger screen is this : buy a LCD and hook it up to your laptop. This offers the advantage of raising it's lifetime, because a screen doesn't age as fast as other computer components (such as video card or cpu), even if you decide to buy a new laptop later, you can still use the screen.
Personnally that's what I did, I bought a Samsung 226BW for £160. It's 22" and it's perfect. Laptop screens aren't as reactive as good external lcds.
When I'm at home I hook up my 6214W to the screen and to a usb concentrator to which a mouse, keyboard, webcam, externalHDD are hooked up and there you go.
Perfect PC for gaming. And perfect laptop for transportation when u unhook everything. -
It should now be £529 INC VAT for this machine
The offer was made last night, but then corrected this morning...The same goes for the 3215W at £259, The price is for the laptop itself and there is a card and delivery charge on top. -

Hope the link works but this should show what it should look like! -

It looks like there has been some changing to the pricing to give what looks to be a very attractive offer. It certainly means that the 6024W has a price premium for the integrated graphics and slightly longer battery life.
I suspect that the T5250 will be OK for gaming because the GPU will be doing most of the work. If you can't afford 2GB of RAM at this stage then plan on a RAM upgrade asap.
The 14.1" size is much more portable. See the picture in my review of the 6024W (which you should look at, if you haven't done so already) since every thing is the same except for the GPU. For general use, the pixels on 14.1" 1440 x 900 are a bit bigger than on 15.4" 1680 x 1050. The latter can be uncomfortably small for some people.

John
The offers mirror what the Danish ,Swedish and German websites are doing and is a decision made by our marketing department. Thank you to people for pointing out the errors and our 2 offers should now be working correctly -
thanks a lot for fixing it mate, I am impressed on how quickly you replied and am now seriously considering buying this laptop. So tempted to get the vostro though because of the better specs but I really hate dell right now lol going to make a decision soon...
Thanks too for the advice John and Simon. -
you're very welcome ;-)
