I was playing some TF2 last night, when suddenly I noticed a few coloured vertical lines on the side of my display. Thinking the GPU had overheated or something, I quickly exited, only to discover there was a small internal crack in the bottom right corner of the screen, causing the coloured lines. I have no idea how it happened, didn't move it or drop it or anything like that, seemed to just happen while I was gaming. I immediately fired off an e-mail to Zepto's customer support about the problem (currently waiting for reply).
My problems are twofold: firstly, I bought the laptop in late November 2007, meaning my 12-month warranty expired about 6-7 weeks ago. Are Zepto likely to take pity and replace the screen free of charge anyway? If not, how much would they charge for a replacement, and will I have the opportunity to simply buy a new display from them and replace it myself? (I have enough skill to do this).
Secondly, if the laptop is sent off to Denmark for repair, how long is it likely to take? I am a student and need my laptop for day-to-day work, so the shorter the better.
Attached is a picture of the crack in the screen (the actual crack is very hard to see, but its effects are quite large)

It's probably faster to go to the live chat, will be faster then waiting for a reply.
And they probably won't pay for your repair, since your warenty expired. In Hollland the standard warenty is 2 years though, I dont know how it is in the UK.
