Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum. I bought a Zepto 6625wd preorder about 2 years ago, with the same problems everyone had back then. Last saturday it crashed. Won't give anything on the screen, not even backlights, so i think it's motherboard related. The leds keep working though and the harddrive gives a first spin.
So i talked to the live chat dude. He gave me a rma number (i had pick up and return) so UPS picked it up, no problems, it got there from Belgium to Denmark in 3 days *thumps up*
Basically, i hope my rma will go fine. I'll post again if I hear something new. I can't see a status on the zepto webpage.
This post is just to inform you, and hopefully bring you some good news about rma's @ zepto, because it doesn't always have to be bad news. I also asked to check the inslot dvddrive, because it has scratched some of my dvds before when moving the laptop. Donno if they will do that. I'll keep you posted nonetheless.
On the bright side: the notebook is/was really nice (except for keyboard and touchpad). I had good times with it ^^
To bad it crashed on saturday, when i had a deadline for monday...-_-''
Nice being part of da community![]()

Welcome!
I just got my 6224 back from repairs, it took about 15 working days and they changed the motherboard because my gpu apparently died. Everything worked great.
You cannot see the status on the zepto webpage because they are dealing with a new repair company i think. My status was blank for about two weeks and then it just said reparied.
Hope everything works out for you! -
I talked to the livechat dude today. He asked if i hadn't received a mail? I said no. He said he was going to ring a technician. After 10 min of waiting he said that the technician send me a lettre, but he will also mail it to me this afternoon.
Tbh, i'm freaking scared. I don't like those mails. If it's good, they just mail you with the good news and send the computer. This sounded rather bad. Hopefully it's something good, but if it's bad, i'll post it nonetheless. Pray with me, i'll post again when i receive the mail.

edit: as i expected: a guy named Christian Nielsen send me a mail, saying i need to pay 645,44€ for repairs. They say they outsource the repairs. But from the looks of it, the 2 administrations don't work together. And i'll be really pissed if they start fixing my computer today and not 2 weeks ago.
edit2: the live chat dudes says that he will report it to the rma manager. And he also says that from the looks of it, the waranty doesn't cover the problem.
edit 3: i got the respons from that christian nielsen. He says that the waranty expired 26th of may 2007, while the people at zepto said i still got waranty...
edit 4: 15:49: it's starting to become a cat and mousegame. The technician says it's my fault, i blame zepto, zepto blames the technician. So right now i'm cc'ing everything to everyone. And i really hope those nice *cough* people of zepto will see their problem and fix it soon. Because i'm not angry anymore, i'm furious. They can't just say i have warranty and then afterwards say i don't have any... -
day 2:
So to give a summary: I've waited 2 weeks to hear that my computer hasn't even been touched yet.
Today I got a mail from [email protected], telling me I still got warranty till the 29th of june, which is great. But now they are telling me to tell that to the technician, who -ofcourse- will not believe me. So now i'm at the fase of mailing to the rma manager.
I'm fighting da machine and I will win goddamnit!!!
edit: I won the battle. I talked to the rma manager like i said. He said he personally took care of the matter and the repairs will start next week. Unfortunately 2 weeks to late. But better late then never. This really messes up the vacation. But i'll survive. Hopefully they'll give some sort of compensation like they did with CLB-NL to forget all the pain...
-
Good to hear that you won. I had some good news in regard to my case too, all thanks to a little complaining and a very helpful zepto employee on this forum
-
thx appendixman. But i really hope this was a onetime situation. If they had lots of problems like that in the past i suggest they sync their computers so all companies involved will get the same information.

Ok, normally I would have my zepto 6625wd back yesterday, but due to some late depositing from the repair people to UPS, it'll be back monday.
Because I've read a couple of negative things about the repairs, I'm going to film the unboxing and checking, to see if there aren't any problems, like scratches or malfunctionings. Just a couple of questions:
My official warrantee voided at 29/06/09, so @ the end of june. But if they broke other things, then I do have the right to complain and ask for a free repair of those things I presume?
And if the gfxcard isn't fixed, or if the same problem should occur like in a week after the repairs... is there somekind of extended warrantee after a repair?
edit: first post 6-6-09, now it's 11-07-09, still no notebook .... -
a month? = = wonder what would be up?
i just hope my 6625wd stays healthy.. *knock wood*
Give them an e-mail or a call whenever you think about it, see if u can speed things up a bit. good luck eh.. -
ok so my last post for now. THe notebook came back a couple of weeks ago, took them longer then a month, almost 1,5 months to fix. They returned it in a reasonable shape, no signs of destruction or replacement. The gfx card has been fixed and repaired. So everything works properly, i just missed a little rubber foot from under the laptop, but the send me one via normal mail. I got it in less then a week after i mailed them. So all in all, repairs are good. Waiting wasn't so good.
Zepto 6625wd crash my 2,5 cents :)
