Anyone managed to install SP1 for Vista 32bit on their Zepto ?

I bought my Zepto 6224 Laptop with Vista 32bit from Zepto UK.
The laptop was shipped in from Denmark I believe.

I tried to install the 5 language version of Service pack 1 for vista 32bit
and get this error (see pic). I assume the version of vista on the Pre installed laptop is Danish with English default.

Is there a way to get SP1 for this OS ?

Thanks but My copy of Vista from Zepto was

You can see it here, from my original thread (pics of Vista ultimate box)

Vista Ultimate 32bit came from Denmark with the laptop, not UK, I think this
is the problem, the SP1 is for English, French, Spanish, German & Japanese.

But My Zepto copy might be Danish (Denmark) and setup to English.

I think All OS from MS are license encoded to country of origin.
Meaning, The Danish copy has a Danish license code, The SP1 service
    pack is not for Denmark.

I need to know if anyone that has pre installed version of vista from Zepto
has found a Vista SP1 update that installs ??

Hello Zepto ? anyone have a link for Direct Download ? or is the problem
Microsoft has not released an international copy of Vista SP1 ???

I bought the Laptop via Internet (It was maybe assembled in Wolfen, Germany, I don't know)

Well, I have a German Vista Business 32 and installed SP1 without problems.

I had no problem installing the SP1 beta onto my 6024W which was supplied with English Vista. As far as I know, Zepto would supply English language Vista with a notebook supplied to UK unless the customer specified otherwise. I haven't yet tried the final SP1 since myself and the 6024W are in different continents.

It's difficult to explain what's causing your problem. I think SP1 still has a few bugs and glitches. I recall there was a download (which might come via Windows update) which was needed to make your computer ready to receive SP1. Maybe something like that is the cause of the problem.

I've always used Vista Business x64 bit (8 months). Installed SP1 a few weeks ago. No issues everything works better.

Having said that. x64 bit edition is generally regarded as better than x86 (32 bit). Even with SP1 installed Vista is not of merchantable quality.

You should try to install the many-more-language SP1 version, to see whether it helps.

What happens if you try installing it through Windows Update? It should find your versions update without any problems.

The installation of the SP1 on a Zepto Znote 6615WD with MS Windows Vista Ultimate 32Bit (SBE) worked without a problem. It didn't solve my BT trouble, but it generated no additional problems. I had the English an German language pack installed, no trouble at all.

galva, this always depends on what you want to use the machine for. Whether you're a programmer, multimedia worker, gamer, 3D artist, designer, musician or all of that, there might be different systems which suit your needs most without spending too much money.
I'm actually doing all of that stuff menioned above, so I need much CPU power, much Memory, a fast and big HD, a very good screen and a capable graphics card, so I went with the 6625WD (almost max. configuration possible)

    Thanks for your reply.
Like you I do all of them.
You mean this computer is good computer?
What about the noise of the computer is it noisy?
    one more thing
The specification that I want to order is as below

    14.1" WXGA+ skärm 1440x900
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo-processor T8300
    NVIDIA® 8600M GT 512MB
    4096MB DDR2 667MHz/PC5300 Ram
    500GB 5400rpm. SATA hårddisk
    Zepto Zpro trådlöst nätverk 300Mbit
    Samsung DVD-RW DL brännare
    Inbyggd Bluetooth®

and price is about 1000 EUR

    Is it a good deal?

Well, first of all, the price for that equipment is really good. That's I think we all here bought a zepto. Many other manufacturers are about 200-300 Euro above that.
If you do Design, go for 1440x900 or higher if it's mainly print design.
If you do rather screen-design, 1440x900 or even lower would be a good choice.

    Everything else seems good.

But there's always a price you pay, if it's not money, it's the time you spend with troubleshooting.
Zepto is still small and young and may still be "practising" to build solid notebooks :p Well, most Zepto notebooks have their issues. Some people can live with that, some can't. Up to now, I still can live with some smaller issues. If the random shutdowns (just had one yet) will get more frequent, I would have a big problem there. I'm using my notebook for aliving.

Other notebooks also have their issues, but in most cases it's not that crucial like hardware malfunction.
My last Dell was quite loud (fans) and had a real stupid fan-management. But there was software to deal with it, so I could live with it quite well.
As long as the hardware works as expected then everything is fine. Hardware malfunction (graphic card overheating, shutdowns) that's not so good.

Well, I experienced the 6x24 series as the one with less faults
Haven't heard of random Shutdowns yet but there are still some people out there having overheating issues
got a 6224 and a 6324 at home and no problem besides the standby-bug off the penry one

the two aren't noisy (most of the time) but with the actual bios (which you need for penry) have a stupid fan-managment.

I just installed SP1 on my 6625, no problems whatsoever (and damn it was much faster without SP1 (had to uninstall SP1RC to install the official)) :D

I've had no problem with my Zepto 6224

The Vista SP1 is an issue with microsoft and should be resolved when they release the international version of their Service pack 1 for Vista, instead of the one available now, which is only the 5 language version. Thx for replies.

The Zepto I have has been great, only flaw might be like any small laptop, Battery life which is an avarage 1-1 1/2 hours on full power.

The screen is great, the power is great and the spec is still (one year on) on par with mose leading models. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.

The 8600 GT 512mb is a very good graphics card (I play Eve online/ RFactor, COD4 and Crysis on it and all work)

Ask others but it's very good, I chose 14.1 format for portability, but also consider some sony Vaio's too.

To address the topic, as already mentioned, there is a need for SP1 which supports Danish. I installed SP1 on a english Business, took an hour, but on first boot i got a BSOD.

Well, now your count is at least one. I got a 6324 and get a couple of BSOD each month, but I mainly blame it on bad drivers (from a targus usb hub) and problems with vista sleep.

Besides hdmi, the thing I miss most is a corresponding docking station. Oh, and a microphone that would pick up normal speech.

I also had some BSOD due to my crappy TV-Card drivers (pinnacle) but i don't think that this is zeptos fault ;-)

good point, experienced this on the 6324, too, but thought it would be a drivers problem
mic on 6224 works just fine, even with speech-to-text
