A new zepto has arrived: Nexus A15
http://zepto.dk/Shop/Notebook.aspx?notebookid=1148
It's very similar to the nox except for this:
-Only available with 1280x800 resolution
-No built in BT
-No fingerprint reader
-No S/PDIF
-No possibility for TV-tuner
-No "zero bright dot guarantee"

Behind that link it seems to show that it would have the same 9600M GT 512MB than Nox and Mythos..
-
-
So this means they will offer a medium grade notebook with a high-end GPU and a low-end screen...
-
hmmmmmmmmmmmm bit slow on the name

It's not obvious to me, at the moment, why Zepto need to create another name rather than expand the configuration options for the Nox.
John -
-
I think it might be due to expanding the range, rather than improving on those that are currently in.
-
Expand the range and also use up some of the chassis too as the current Nox will not support the docking station when made available.
Docking station support* (From Oktober 2008)
Perfectly tailored for large scale enterprises and small medium business with the option of a dockingstation. The dockingstation features built in HDMI, 6 USB ports and Digital audio out.
*The first shippment of computer will not support docking station. Computers bought after 15th of October will support dockingstation. -

I got this message from Zepto, and can't understand it. Can someone translate it to english?

Google Translate gives this;
Dear Customer

Thanks for fast reply! So I still have to wait, thought it will ship today.
-
No probs.
Don't worry mate, be patient, I've been waiting a month now, and was told it'll be only 3 weeks.... -
They did the same thing to me. The first time it happened it was okay. Original delivery date was set to 20.08.08. Then because of some components that had not been delivered I was told I had to wait until the end of the week that just passed on the 5th of September. Today I received a similar mail to the one Solidi got. The only difference is that I ordered a Mythos. It said that they will probably not be able to deliver it until the period 15th to 19th.
I don't know about you, but when an item is delayed with one entire god **** month, then I must say I am about to loose my temper. Do they have no control at all between the sales department and the delivery department? In my head it is a bad idea to give out estimated time of arrival when you do not have a clue when the goods will be available. The first was fine. 5-10 days was never really a problem. But right now there are two things that annoy me really bad.
1. The computer I ordered has dropped in value before I even received it.
2. I am a student and was supposed to use this almost every day. School started on the 18th last month.
I might be overreacting, but I think one month is too long. Total delivery time will be about 45 days. It would take less time for me to travel by foot to Denmark to retrieve it myself.
Sorry... Had to blow of some steam. -

Hi
I usually reside in the Sager and Clevo part of the notebookreviewforum but felt I should add something to this thread.
There has been a lot of confusion caused by Zepto giving their 15.4" laptop the same name as ours but I'm not suggesting they did this on purpose. Please be aware that the laptops are completely different as we have had several enquiries about the docking station which seems to be an option on the Zepto but not on the Kobalt Nexus. This was actually brought to our attention today as MESH have started selling a laptop called the MESH Nexus which turns out to be a Zepto!
Anyway, just posted this incase there is any confusion on the forum. -
I just received another email saying that my nexus will arrive even later... i ordered it on the 13th of august got a mail back from zepto one day later ... it was supposed to be produced by the 5th of september and today i get a mail that tells me i have to wait till 14th of october (!!!) ... whats wrong there? how is it possible for anyone to need 2 month to build a laptop? i didnt order a fighter jet.... but i think even they are poduced faster....
-
Same email, same feelings. Their suppliers must be really lazy :/
-
when i check the Zepto-HP my configuration still only get a "time till expected delivery" of 14 days.... that are like 14 days less then the fu**in email says ... im geting real angry the last few days.... but unfortanetely zepto is one of the rare notebook retailers selling NBs without OS...
-
so.... anyone got their nexus ?? i wrote a mail and they said it will be shipping in mid oktober omg... 1.5 month waiting..
-

It would help if Zepto could identify the cause of the delays.
Batteries have recently been a problem, or it may be another component. It is possible that Zepto may have a large pile of computers awaiting the missing part, in which case they will also be frustrated since it is bad for their cash flow.
John -
indeed.. its the bone of nexus they are missing.. massiv delay.. cant wait any longer, so i might just buy the mythos from the store
-
No Nexus here. It will also ship in the mid october. :/
-
i don't know why you are so keen on those models.. ok they look good, but they have a (imho) lame display: glossy and low resolution. 1280x800 on 15" is way oldschool....
-
You're right, It is pretty oldschool. But I'm just a poor student, and can't afford better. And I need raw power more than good display, so I chose this model. It's really cheap compared to the power it has. When I ordered it, it also had a HUGE discount. I can't find anything with same kinda price and performance. That's why I'm willing to wait.
-
In the official zepto forum (zeptoforum.com) a zepto rep said the keyboards for the nexus would be missing and he promised to inform the users if any other delay is likely to happen ....
-
The low res screen was actually a factor in my decision to order one of these. I really wanted 1440x 900 but as that was not availible I prefered to step down a res rather than upping to a nox with 1680x1050 so I could really take maximum advantage of the 9650GT and get some really good frame rates.
-
oh.. that and the fact that they were offering a free blue ray drive with this machine at the time!!
-
ok, i use my notebook for gaming AND working, and you cant work on 1280x800 (too small). if you just game, ok fine. for me its too small.
-
I guess it is a bit small for working if you're using multiple applications etc. most of my work is at home though and I have a spare 1680x1050 monitor to hook it up to then. So that's always an option if you have a low res screen on your laptop (provided you have a spare monitor kicking around of course)
-
i find 1440x900 pretty cool for both working and gaming. maybe zepto offers new screens in future...
-
1440x900 is perfect, 1280x800 is acceptable,
been working on illustrator, flash and stuff on my 1280x800 and u just get use to it, but i got a 42inch lcd at home XD anyways, it pisses me off that they dont say anything if it cant be delivered.. have to call them each time.. and they dont give a daang about the customer.. if u dont want it, they'll just delete the order.. awesome support.. -
Yeah! Just got email from zepto saying that my Nexus is sent today.
Finally good news.
-
awesome news mann congratz! when did u order urs?
-
I ordered it the 12th of August. Wow!! Didn't even realize how long it has been. I knew from the start that it will ship in september, though.
Anybody else getting their Nexus soon? -
now its the 20th october i'll be getting it... now the 9650m gt is missing.. omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg
-
Same problem -
Ordered a Zepto Nexus A15 on the 24th August which had a delivery date indicated as 'beginning of September'.
Receive an email - 'Delivery between 29th September and 3rd October' , annoying but ok, these things happen.
Receive another email - 'Delivery from the 13th October to the 17th October' , ***?
They do not respond to email, bar automated responses and their number 70 204 304, goes to a fax/data noise. Are they still in business? -
Gnazz, When you say the 9650GT is missing, do you mean they have removed it from your order?
-
Zepto havent recieved the batch of 9650:s
-
llike Sprint said.. but whats really annoy me is that they didn't tell me about that, and only told me that the bone was missing.. isnt that like ***? i mean maybe i would have changed to 9600m gt at that time.. oh mann i sooo give up
-
well the motherboard and GFX probably comes at the same time
-
Are you sure Zepto hasn't received the 9650GT's? The reseller i'm buying it off seems to think their ready to ship?
-
The reseller probably has a stock of them, and not ordering them from Zepto as they are bought
-
Not as far as I am aware. Their all being built by Zepto Denmark and shipped directly from them (this is the Australian reseller btw).
-
I recieved an e-mail from zepto today it reads:
-

At least there is some information about what is happening. These delays are no fun for Zepto either. The assembly staff will be under pressure to get those missing parts into all the waiting computers with the minimum of delay.
BTW, I edited that email address since it is not good practice to publish addresses which the spammers will pick up.
John -
Sorry, wrong computer i wrote about... Please delete this post.
-
Thanks for editing the e-mail, I didn't think about that!
True, it is good to get some information. I guess also that, as week 45 seems to be their deadline for clearing the backlog of all their orders, I'm hoping my order may arrive a little sooner than that as I ordered on the 16th August. -
