I'm really excited about this notebook. Will the Zepto guys give more information here on NBR? don't think soBut I sure hope...
It's ultramobile, so it's max. 13'3", combine that with a penryn and you've got yourself a nice thin and not so heavy notebook![]()

Interesting....
The 13.3" segment, which only about a year ago was just Sony + Macbook, is no quite crowded. So something a little smaller would make more sense. For me, good battery life would be an important factor in something so portable. To date, that aspect hasn't been one of Zepto's strong points.

I've been considering investing in one myself
That's all I can say about it
-
Hopefully it would be something like the 8,9" HPC UMPC 2133 $749,- model...
I don't want a 13,3" since I have a 14,1" incher Znote 6224W...
And a 12" model isn't such less bigger that a 14,1" in my humble opinion...
So Zepto! 9"? 10"? 'Notus' --> Notes --> Making notes --> Touchscreen..
And offcourse a nice dedicated videocard would be awesome in a 9" / 10" model... (A)
[offtopic] Aren't there any mistakes in that HP seizes?

Well we can't say anything about size and specs until they are officially released in a press release. I think it seems very nice though
-
Grrrrrrrr You are annoying me hahaha
BUT BUT BUT I'm the first one (in NL) to test one so that's nice (A) -
Any idea of an eta?
-
Is clb nl related to zepto in some way?
I mean he seems to be always sent units to test? -
I've made serveral topics on the Dutch tweakers.net about Zepto's!
The first topic started more than 1,5 year ago and since then there
are more than 8500 posts made in all those topics
And in that period Zepto 'discovered' me so I was invited to came along...
Blablabla nice nice nice.. And nowadays you can also find me at NBR.com.
Were I've made several 'good' topics (with much much views/ posts in it)
And 'always' units to test isn't trueI've tested serveral other laptopbrands (like BTO) because the Zepto seller in the Netherlands, also sold that brand...
And I've tested the first Penryn-Zepto, but that was send from Zepto-UK (A)
So related... I'm not working for them, but Zepto NL sees my interesse in Zepto!
And now there is another Zepto seller in the Netherlands, were I've been a couple of times and when they get the new Zepto's I am allowed to test them (A) -
your just a crazed fan then lol.....better test em units properly now
-
What do you mean with 'better test em units properly now'
(English is not my native language so I don't understand this sentence) -
He probably means that we don't wanna see a fanboy review.
Keep it unbiased and so forth. -
yes, dont exclude problems just because you love zepto.
also test them properly as a lot of units from zepto arrive with annoying problems lately -
No no no no that's not my intention
If there are any problems with the unit, I will name it offcourse
And I hope you (and others) don't see me as a fanboy, but just like a Zepto-user!
Just something like this:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=138975 -
Nobody that has got new info?
-
-
heard about it being a 12inch
btw: anything new about the 17inch? -
Heard it where...
The 17" can be discussed here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=195126 -
As said before. We are not allowed to release any information to the public yet, so everything regarding the Notus or 17" that are out there is just speculations, nothing more.
But I can promise, as soon as we are allowed to tell, you'll be among the first to know!
-
Yeah that's true, that's true, but I want it now ;-)

for all non-german-speaking:
"First of all there is a new 12 inch notebook for release between march and april
afterwards, in may/june there will be 4 new 14inch,5 new 15inch models and the 17inch model
the 14inch models will be both black and white with shared and non-shared, same with 15inch but also a fifth 15inch with a hig-end gfx for a later release, like the 17 inch
i don't want to and i can't tell you more
greetings"
hope this was helpful -
I have confirmation about the Notus!
It will be a 12" model and it has to be AWEEEEESOMEEEE!
'Does it have ...' 'YES'
'Does it have ...' 'YES'
'Does it have ...' 'YES'
And so on, and so on...
They aren't allowed to tell me anything but this Notus,
and all the new other Zepto's have to be the summit of laptops...
Hmmmmm CLB is getting crazy crazy crazy -
the price will be the determining factor for me. if it's comparable in hardware to the m1330, but cheaper, I might go for a zepto. othervise Ill just buy a eee pc.
-
Knowing Zepto it could easily be comparable to the XPS 1330...
But for a cheaper price... Zepto is quality.. so you pay for that!
And otherwise you want to buy a Asus Eee PC...
I have a Zepto Znote 6224W and an Asus Eee PC..
and you can't compare them to eachother!! -
I hope the hardware will be compatible to the m1330. If it is, I'll buy it ASAP !!
-
What do you think yourself...
My Zepto 6224W is for sell ;-)
So if anybody wants it, contact me (A) -
Like all typical companies, they'll probably publish the new models in the beginning of a quarter, i hope that it'll be Q3 this time...
-
The Notus will be released this month ;-)
The other laptops (14" 15" 17") will be released two months later -
laptopworld.dk claim to have the specc for the notus:
800MHz Intel processor med 400MHz FSB, 512KB L2 cache, TDP 3W
1GB onboard ram
4200RPM 1,8” harddisk i op til 100GB konfiguration
12,1” eller 12” WXGA skærm med 1280x800 opløsning
4i1 kortlæser
3 USB porte
Giga ethernet og wireless, Bluetooth, samt mulighed for mobilitet via 3G.
VGA for tilslutning af ekstern skærm eller projektor.
Price: about the same as the chapest m1330.
Do I miss something here, or why would I buy a slightly worse computer for the same price? (Comparing to the m1330). -
John Ratsey Moderately inquisitive Super Moderator
If the CPU has a 3W TDP then it should be capable of all day operation from a 6 cell battery. The U1500 in my Sony G11 has a TDP of 5.5W and can run for up to 10 hours (no doubt helped by the LED backlit display).
However, the CPU might not be very fast. Think of an Eee with an almost full sized keyboard and good HDD capacity. There's definitely a gap in this segment of the market at the moment. The Sony G series has disappeared from Europe while both that and the TZ series carry a big price premium.
John -
Hmmm interesting...
Do I want it: yes/no...
Haven't got a clue... -
If that thing has nearly the same price as a M1330, but the specs of the Eee PC. I would never buy it. I'd either want a smaller laptop with the same specs while not paying as much, or a slightly larger laptop that is way more powerfull for the same price.
-
http://laptopworld.dk/Artikler/35-Artikler/368-ugen-der-gik.html
hmm seems like they will use the A110, But correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that one based on the pentium mobile rather than diamondville? looks a bit expensive also -
If it seriously looks like that for the same price as the M1330, with lesser specs(although this is still speculation), then I can tell you the Notus has already failed.
-
I don't understand Dansk soo good so that's why this question! -
Well I'm Swedish so I understand danish, however if I read or listen to long my head starts to hurt.
"Notus kom på bordet og se, det er sager…" => The Notus was put on the table + "something else". Please note that its the last part of the article thats about the Notus. -
"Notus kom på bordet og se, det er sager…" = The Notus was put on the table, and look, it's really something..."
-
At first I was interested, but seeing as how a ThinkPad X61 costs around 12.000 swedish crowns (SEK), and the Notus will cost around 10.000 SEK, for half the performance but the same size, it lacks too much to be able to impress me.
-
Rene S - Zepto Company Representative
From what i read the battery life is not in any way as good on the X61 as on the Notus. The Notus is all about portability, not insane performance. We've had customers wanting a machine from us that is small and with long battery life... and that's what we are releasing.
-
-
That's due to the videocards in those 'beasts'
-
didn't it say 9 hours in the article?
-
that's quiet good =-O
but to be fair 5hours with the 12cell is no problem on 6224W, have had up to nearly 6h (well, without wlan, and BT in this case)
so batterielife isn't as worse as you all state here -
just doublechecked, the article said 9 hours.
And yes, get a 12 cell and you won't ever worry about power again -
I think I'm gonna buy a new 14,1"er for the POWER
and a Zepto Titan for school and the easy stuff -
This is translated from Dutch to English, so there could be any grammar-faults in it!
'With the making of worlds most energysufficient notebook
Zepto has introduced again the worlds first technology
Notus, the name of this new notebook, has got a 12,1" screen and uses 50% less power dan 'normal' notebooks on the market. This means that the Zepto Notus has got a batterytime of 10 hours! The casing of this notus is partially made of magnesium so it only weights 1,1kg and it's a incredibly strong machine. It is strong enough to work after a fall of 1 meter high.
"Thanks to the new McCaslin processors of Intel, we have reduced the energylevel of this notebook to 4,1 Watt. This is measured with the Energy Star 4.0 standard. The normal energylevel of a notebook is between the 8-12 Watt" says Morten Kjærsgaard, COO, Zepto A/S.
The hardware in the Notus is also good protected, due to the liquidfree casing (the upside of the notebook) The Notus will be standard delivered with a 3,5 millimeter thick 12” LED backlight scherm, Bluetooth 2.0, Wireless-N and an TPM encryption module for the 80GB HDD.
The new 12" notebook can be ordered from 30 april 2008, for a price of 899,- euro including VAT'
I 'miss':
- seizes
- videocardinfo
- DVD-writer/ not (on the image the Notus is very thin, just like the MacBook Air)
And I only can find this info on the Dutch site of Zepto...
(You also only can order a Zepto 'Titan' on the Dutch Zepto site) -
Hi guys,
If you can see the Notus on the Dutch site you are lucky. It is not supposed to be made available till th 30th.
It's looking good, just waiting for the details.
Re Titan, that is definately available on the Danish site as well. -
:d :d :d :d :d
-
Notus is not on the dutch site
-
Yeah I'm stupid :-s
