Hi, I've been pricing up a zepto in the last week or so (while trying to justify getting a laptop!) and I've just noticed that they've changed the warranty costs.

For the last few weeks that I've been looking at it the warranty has been 2 years free, but it's now £50, I wondered if anyone knew why it had changed? I thought originally it might have been an offer but there was no notice anywhere on this...

Don't know if it's the warranty, but here in Finland Zepto's main reseller just raised prices.. Could be it, or not.

I visited the UK site, and warranty seems to be the same, option for 12 or 24 months (6 months on battery) for 0.00.

BTW while a warranty is nice if it covers accidental damage and whatnot, you don't actually need one in the UK for say the heating issues with Zepto's, unless its like a 3 year warranty because of that extra long period of cover (but saying that the law - below- takes into account the expected duration a product will be used for)

You are covered by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and its subsequent amendments that goods should be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. Quite clearly a laptop that breaks down due to the GPU overheating isn't. Providing you haven't overclocked or done anything stupid, you are fine. Know your statutory rights :)

But then since NUSystems (or whatever they were called) are gone and Denmark handle all the repairs, I'm not too sure on the technicalities.
