Hi all.
I just got my brilliant new znote 6214w notebook.
I've just installed counter strike source and ran it and was disappointed to see that it was unplayable even on the lowest graphics settings. When I say unplayable I mean it's only runs on 10-15fps, max 20fps - resulting in a very very jerky gaming experience I imagine this has something to do with the fact I haven't updated any drivers yet. It might also be worth mentioning that I haven't used the zepto driver cd that was included with my notebook yet, to install the drivers on this cd do i just open all the folders and run each of the setup files ?
I have not done this before so I would appreciate it if somebody could run me through how to do it. Do I need to remove all the drivers before I attempt to install another one, or do I do it by going into device manager and simply right clicking on the graphics bit and selecting update driver and then select the new driver i have downloaded?
I don't want to attempt doing this without knowing exactly what I'm doing as i don't want to end up with no graphics at all due to a silly mistake.![]()
Thanks.
Joe.

The drivers that came on my driver cd all seemed to be quite old, so I downloaded the latest versions from the zepto site or the respective components websites (including sound drivers, latest directx etc.).
As for the graphics driver I'm running v.91.48 which runs counterstrike on its higest settings (and i feel is currently the most stable), downloaded from the laptopvideo2go site.
I'd explain the correct procedure for downloading and installing the modded .inf files but to be honest they do a much better job in their FAQ section.
Personally I always uninstall the old drivers from the control panel "add remove software" and rebooting before installing new ones.
What you might find will help you the most is downloading the latest bios
the details of how to do this can be found here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=88188
I hope this helps. -
Thanks for the reply.
Turns out I was stupid enough to forget to run my notebook from the mains when I tested cs source.
I was very pleased to see the FPS rise to 109 on max settings when I ran from the mains. Amazing !
I think I will leave the drivers for now, I see no need to update them now tbh. Thank you anyway. -
Is it possible to change where the 4 shortcut buttons at the top right of the notebook link to ? Obviously you can change the internet home shortcut, but what about the other 3 ?

u have to install quick launch from the cd. think its QLbutton

Instead of using the CD, go to:
ftp://ftp.zepto.dk/Znote6214W/
And download all the files, them install it all
There is on the VGA folder the official 91.31 drivers
Zepto Znote 6214 Graphics Drivers
