Just had a look at the specs and it looks pretty good! I am pelased that the Celeron option remains. The hard drive options I feel could be rather more mainstream, but otherwise it's looking top.

Anyone know how long the 6214 will stay available? I see prices have gone down on it, when do we think it will be discontinued?

Is 6+12 Cell Batt available on 6224? Cause 12 Cell (6x14) is listed as an accessory but not on the Battery screen.

Weird - when I put mine together the 6+12 cell option was under the battery tab of the main configuration section - now it looks like only the 6cell option is there and they've moved the 12 cell option to the "accessories" section, under "power".

Same. It was there and now it isn't. I think I'm going to wait a few days to see if Zepto can get their act together else I'll switch to Asus -- if they can't even organise a website (when they've known the change has been coming for months) then I don't really want to trust them with my £1,000.

Ok -- am I high or there's no HD included with 6224?

Edit: According to the 6224 front page, a 120G 5400 is included and the price is 40 quid more than when you go to configure it, but no HD is selected, and the 120G is not even available as an option!

The 12 cell battery has been removed at the moment due to limited stock availability and we will put the item back on as soon as we know the stock is coming in, hope this clears up any issues

    ZUK,

In the 6625 thread you mentioned that 12 month P&R warranty is included in the price, and it having no warranty pre-selected was an oversight.

I'm not sure if that's the case for 6224, but it looks like not warranty is included there either.

Edit: I just read the warranty info on the support page, and it says that all UK Zeptos come with 12month P&R. So if I choose 12 Months P&R on the service screen, that's additional 12 months for a total of 24, right?

My guess is that they just separately point out the cost for the minimum 12 months warranty (£46.20) and make you take at least 12 months, rather than implicitly including it in the price of the overall system, like most retailers would do. They also have pretty expensive shipping and credit card fees (no Switch/Maestro capability) layered on top (about £70 together), which is not that competitive in my view.

    Petrov.

ok so what about the robinson flash memory? i have been reading in trustedreviews about the samsung Aura R70 not having it but supposedly the Thinkpad T61 will have it. on trustedreviews.com they said that this technology would probably make the biggest difference to notebook performance in Santa rosa refresh. Does the choosing Samsung Hybrid drive option mean there is flash memory included? if so how much 1Gb or 512mb, i suppose i should just wait for benchmarks etc but i am confused

    thanks,

    Tim

As I understand it, Vista currently only supports one flash memory device - so if you go for the Hybrid HDD (which includes 256Mb Flash), then under Vista you currently cannot utilise another Flash device. AFAIK, WinXP doesn't support this technology at all.

It's not 100% clear to me if this is the same or different to the (Robson) Turbo Memory stuff referred to on trustedreviews.

I don't think it's the same thing, but I'm also kinda fuzzy on it.

I thought Robson (Turbo Memory) is somthing that Intel supplies, and the Flash utilization with Vista is something different and doesn't take advantage of the same technology.

But I'm not 100% or even 50% certain on that.

If I am right, Intel is offering Robson as an option and it doesn't look like it's an option included in 6224.

Ahh, ok - that sounds like it could be the case, as the Turbo Memory comes "integrated" on the notebook motherboard, so not something you buy or choose to have added on.

Over to ZUK to answer this one...!

On the other hand, after rereading the Samsung review it looks like Vista ReadyBoost would utilize Turbo Memory so does that mean if a computer comes with TM, that there's no point to the Hybrid HD? At least until Vista starts supporting more than one RB device?

That was my initial understanding, but I clearly have no idea anymore.

Arguably, the best thing to do is get the 7200rpm drive and then get something like a 16gb express card (they should be widely available soon I think) which can be used as a flash device and is heaps bigger than the 256mb flash memory on the current samsung hybrid hdd's.

hello zeptouk, do you know if it woul'd be that in few months we will find the hdmi or dvi port both on 6625wd and 6624w?
because it's quite strange that a video card with hdcp an high definition feature does't have the hd ports

    To Zepto and all

I am considering buying the 6624W this month, but I have a few questions about the system:

    1) Is the Intel Turbo Memory (fully operational) included in the 6624W
(as I don’t want to order the Samsung hybrid)

    2) Is WLAN HSDPA included or optional

    3) What are the clock speeds of the Nvidea 8600 GT for the 6624W

    4) For 2 GB ram is it one stick or two separate 1 GB sticks

    Thanks

The lead time will be around 26 days. The 9th of may was the 1st date that a customer could order the new notebooks. The demand for these models is very high.

If i get a notebook now, I may want to upgrade the Ram from 2gb to 4gb in the future.
Is it possible to find out whether Zepto install their 2gb 800mhZ memory in (2gb x1 stick) or (1gb x 2 sticks)?

Can anyone confirm if the Intel Turbo memory (or Robinson memory) is featured in the 6624/6625?

Also will the GeForce 8600M GT be overclocked in this system as the card in the 6614/6615 was?

Its in German - but the Zepto rep says that the 6625 and the 6224 have TM "for sure" - "6224 und 6625 haben TPM, ganz sicher".

Didn't accept the payment from my commercial card due to a stupid payment setup (asking for a VAT number/no. of employees when the company has 0 employees and won't be tax registered until October of next year, if at all).

Guess I'll wait for the G1S.

It would be nice if we could see the full detailed specs for 6224 so we don't have to rely on babelfish to find out if it has Robson or not.

And actually, I'm not sure zepto actually does have it since it's not mentioned anywhere that I saw. Considering the fact that only Lenovo T61 is selling it, and other currently released SR notebooks do not, you'd think Zepto would capitalize on that.
