I just got my 6625WD back from maintenance and the first thing i did was checked the bios setting. To my suprise I noticed that the bios version was Z15N012. Is this a new release that hasn't been published yet?

Another thing is that even tough the maintenance was quick and UK and International support was better I could ask for, I'm still suprised that there wasn't any information of what was wrong with my laptop and what was fixed. Seems a bit odd to me. It would be nice to know if the problem was with the fan or the gpu and how it was fixed, for example if some parts were replaced

Anyhow, that's all the complaints I have on this matter. All and all I'm very happy with Zepto's customer support :)

    Can't. I don't have it, it's just installed on my 6625. :D

It clearly states in bios that the version of it is Z15N012....

Well I think so. Haven't really tested it much, but my CPU usage on idle is about 0%.

the z15N012 has been delivered to us on some batches of new machines from China, and probably some Motherboards to, thats why Lemppu has got it. I don't think it's going to be released on the FTP as the changes from zN15011 is quite small as I have understand it.

There have been some delays with releasing new BIOSes for the 6625 as the versions we have got and tested hasn't quite lived up to our expectations, therefor there might be a few versions jumped over when we decide on what to actually release on the FTP.

It seems that the BIOS version shows that you have got a new motherboard.

I agree that it would be good if the Zepto technicians could provide a brief report of work done when they send the notebook back. I recall that Dell used to do that - I was once surprised to see how much got changed to fix a problem with the keyboard connection onto the motherboard.

I've been beta testing the new BIOS... There are some nice improvements. Although some things could be better... That's all I can say, I'm not allowed to talk about specific changes :)

    Im from finland.

Well Im stil under warranty and the BIOSes are quite trough-tested before handed over to us so Im pretty shure Im safe from hardware damage.

Well, the diffrences between the BIOSes are quite small, and at least I havent had one BSOD wich would be caused by BIOS.

Nop, maby I should do that (atough Im running 008 right now)

Ok, let me clear up some things here :)

    I'm from Denmark yes.

Since Sprint and I, have been active members in the Zepto forum with help, problem solving and feedback on BIOS versions, Rene Zepto contacted us, to know if we wanted to test the new bios.
And we do this for free, I can assure you. No money involved :) I'm just glad to help develop a better bios with the feedback that I give

My laptop actually had to be repaired during testing. It just went down when rolling back from the new bios to 008, and it never turned on again :(
But they fixed it in 1 day. Rep. started on the 4th and on the 5th it was repaired. They had to change the MB. All hail Zepto, for great support :) And I'm expecting PostDK to knock on my door tomorrow, to give me my lappy!

I can't be too specific, but the cpu usage when idle, went down drastically!

Now, I've just received a new BIOS today. Things are going in the right direction :)

Hope this will answer your questions. If there's anything you want explained more thoroughly, please tell me

I hope the hibernation etc functions can be improved..

I have windows vista ultimate 64bits installed, and if they computer goes to suspended mode or hibernate sometimes the screen won't come back on(thought I can still remotely logged into it, so PC is alive). sometimes the wireless card (intel) won't come back up.. then I'd need to do a hard reset..

things like these are somewhat annoying, so i've now turned off in hardware manager to not allow power properties to work for wireless lan, so that's the temporary fix for the time being.

something about the bios are definitely funny here..

Well with the Z15N012 I have, my CPU usage on idle is about 0-2 %. Mostly 0% tough...
