What's it like? I've been put off the laptop a bit by reviews saying the keyboard is poor. But I would like impressions from people here before I decide.
    Thanks.

The keyboard was discussed in a recent thread but I can't find it at the moment.

One grumble is that the keys need to be pushed down to the limit of travel in order to register which needs a fairly heavy typing action. It took me sometime to adjust to my 6024W's keyboard (same OEM) after migrating from a computer with a lighter typing action.

There may also be some keyboard bounce over the optical drive area where there are no fixing screws. I did a DIY modification with some sticky tape under the keyboard but it shouldn't be necessary for users to have to do this. I got the idea from an old Fujitsu notebook where the sticky tape was provided in the factory and I'm puzzled that Zepto haven't adopted this fix.

In conclusion, the keyboard is usable and wouldn't be a reason for me to get rid of the notebook. The user can (and will) adapt to a keyboard but, for example, a poor display will remain poor however long you look at it.

As a user of a 6625wd, I wouldnt say its bad, it just requires a bit heavyer fingers than on many other laptops. Its just one thing they have cut the costs on, so that the laptop would be as cheap as possible, but they could change it to a bit better, I agree.

We actually tried this a while on the 6515WD (same keyboard an fittings as the 6615WD and 6625WD) in Sweden. But it didn't give the result we where hoping on. And the backside of it was that it was really annoying when you for some reason (cleaning or whatever) want get the keyboard of.
For newer 6515WD we the got a new revision of the top cover with better fittings for the keyboards that took away the need for the tape, this is the same designed as later is used on 6615WD and 6625WD.

I must say, in my own opinion, I have problem understanding the complains about the 6xx5 keyboards. I think they are really good to type on and I like that it have a little flex, it makes it softer to type on in some way.

I believe it's sub-standard and easily the cheapest point on the laptop.
To me, it's on par with budget laptops. The keys don't register without
some force, the keyboard itself is not completely level, and the quality
    overall is lacking.

I make these observations when compared with Zepto's previous 4200
model, many alienware and apple laptops of similar price.

If you do a lot of typing or it's a key point for you (and it sounds like it
is), I'd recommend another laptop model or an external keyboard if you
    don't mind it.

Best scenario, try one for yourself and see if you can live with it.

You should sometime have a go with a old ThinkPad, there you have a good keyboard, in every way there is. Maby it could be just a bit lighter to type, but ah, its about 5 years old so cant blame it for being a bit stiff.

Quite strange that compare it to just the 4200, as that probably is the model we have had most complains on regarding the keyboard, compared to how many units there are sold.

In my own point of view, 6xx5 and 4200 has the to best keyboards of any model we have sold, so I don't understand peoples complains. I guess it's one of those things where it's impossible to make everyone happy, becuase all have there different taste.

I sure have tried those, and I must say I like most of them to, not the real old tho, as they use to have to massive buttons.
But I usualy like most keyboards, even some Acer as most people hate.
The only keyboard I realy disslike is the one on an old Znote 2002 :p

Hey I want to ask/point something.

I was wondering... On my sister's notebook (an old Dell Inspiron) I can push multiple keys at once and they all register. But on my Zepto 6625WD it can only register 2 keys at once...

I have tested it with Stepmania ( www.stepmania.com ) and it can only handle 2 arrowkeys at once. While my sister can push all four arrowkeys at once without any problem. Also the 6024W of one of my friends' works with four keys at once

Is this problem only on the 6625WD? and do you guys also have this problem?

And is there a fix for it?

Not really as we were not very fond of the 4200's keyboard either. We still
have the 4200 from 2-3 years back and when comparing the 2 keyboards
side by side their is a very noticeable difference. the 4200's is stronger,
less noise, and better action in 'comparison.'

Was it a great keyboard? No. Was it on par with the price? Yes.
Is the 6625wd's keyboard good? No. Is is on par with the price? Not even close...
    ...in my opinion. :)

Note we also compared it with 'apples' and 'ora...' er...'alien' keyboards as
    well.
