Hi guys,
Just to let you know that Zepto for Asia is open for the little island of Singapore. The focus of this site will be to offer information about Zeptos on sale in the mainstream retail outlets in Singapore. However, we will be entering a lot of useful information on the site to keep things interesting and useful. Do check out the FAQs on the site so we can improve on this information service and perhaps build some form of knowledgebase for you as customers.
The website is http://www.zepto.asia.
Do let us know what your comments are as they will always be welcome.
Cheers,
Zepto SG

So Zepto's global empire is expanding....

Using a crappy joomla template is a bit low-budget though.
-
Good news!
It's good to have newer companies spreading around... especially in the east
Oh and the Joomla CMS site with most default settings looks EXTREMELY amateur! You need a unique custom site!!
You should have built a professional site first then had it online... This just looks very unprofessional.... -
Oh come on guys. If you want to price something at an interesting price. You have to skimp a few unnecessary details. Most websites these days run on Joomla anyway. Most people won't know the difference between Joomla default and other templates. And besides, if I pay a web developer to do this, Would you complain if I raise the prices?
If you're complaining about this. Maybe you can do up the webpage for me
This is just a site for info until Zepto HQ builds us a proper site with the configurator etc
I'll probably add a forum for the english speakers. -
Due to some complications, we have had to change the site name to mucro.asia. Lets hope we will turn the site to be as informative as can be until we get our own configurator and knowledgebase in the zepto.com

All I'm saying is that I think it's a shame that Zepto doesn't care more about its company image. Zeptoexperten.se is also very crappy.
You are somehow assuming that having a good website is completely unimportant when selling laptops? Then I think you should reconsider that... -

Well as far as i have understood ZeptoSG/Zepto Asia has nothing to do with Zepto in Denmark, but are only buying machines and selling them on, that is basically why they had to change the name. I might be wrong though.

ZeptoExperten is also a independent company.
Basicly, the sites we take responsibility for is the ones linked to from Zepto.com. -
The purpose of the website is to serve information and functionality. Not for beautification. It is important for users to understand that. If I was to put up something like Youtube or something multimedia like. I'd pick a pro to beautify things and dazzle people. Think Mac. Our site is solely for information and news locally. We will build the FAQ as comprehensive as possible in order for people to understand the technicalities and find solutions to common problems in Windows. If you're not interested in information, please don't visit the site. Would you complain to Notebookreview.com for using vBulletin or Google for having a plain and simple website?
If you have issues with Zepto, please take it up to them. We will take care of our people here, we expect Zepto to take care of us so we can care for the people we sell computers to. If Zepto will not help us, we can help ourselves as our network of retailers/servicing centres are more than capable to take care of consumers. This is not Europe, we do things more quickly and more efficiently here. Everyone here works everyday, even sunday all day. Our repair guys go through 10/100s of laptops each day. Experience does count when it comes to troubleshooting. They also have their own branding to worry about as we do ours. -
-
Ok. If you're willing to help out, would be glad to have the help. Please bear in mind I currently don't have funds to pay a web developer. Our funds are tied up to local advertising/marketing and we are way over budget.
Criticism aside, the website was initially agreed upon but had to change afterwards. The site is temporary and mostly for local info/logistics until Zepto gives us a nice home in zepto.com. The site needs to be functional doesn't need to be too flashy. Like Zepto laptops, functional, simple, not too flashy. -
ZeptoSG, I will send you a PM

Personally, I like simple low bandwidth websites since they are faster. The key requirement is to be easy to navigate.

Hi, I represent Zepto in Australia and New Zealand. As I am the official agent and only represent Zepto, I am simply using the Zepto website, nothing could be easier and consistent look and feel.

But the point being that it has to unique like them, not based on an open source CMS like Joomla which every amateur web dev can use, since it's so readily available! A corporate site HAS to be custom.... you don't see the sager site or any other site using Joomla, do you ?
At the very least you should buy a template from the web.
Worst come worst, if you aren't able to currently afford anything, you should have waited to build a proper professional fully functional site before having it online (as I stated before). -
-
Hmmm.... good to know
But why not a custom template instead of Joomla altogether ? I know it takes more time.... but Zepto is a corporation, not one simple person's web blog!
-
And second, a lot of very big sites are using joomla, drupal, mambo etc. and there is definetely nothing wrong with that. Using different templates, all CMS systems can be made to look different. There is most of the time no trace of the original CMS template for most sites. However, the original Joomla template is widely used by amateurs which is why I dislike it. -
And I'm sure (by looking at your previous work) that you'll pull off a more than fine job of the Zepto site!

BTW, I see that Nils hangs out more in another place.

Anyway, I've made some basic image and color changes now to make it look more like a zepto site. It should be sufficient until they get a "real" zepto site. -

Unbelievable how often people get Austria and Australia mixed up. Anyway, I prefer to be down under, not up there.
Yes, I have been hanging out in another space, simply because a customer started a Zepto thread there and it was very active until recently. Now everybody seems to hang ten, waiting for information about the refresh.
