I have been using my laptop for quite a while and have been constantly on the lookout for a nice portable gaming computer. And while I still have not made my decision yet the zepto nox a14 (is that what is called the 14" with a 9600 M GT?) seems like a very good laptop (albeit a bit expensive) so I wanted to get a bit more info about it
I see that it has the 9600M GT in it and the picture of their benchmarks show a DDR3 version of it but just to make sure, this is a 9600M GT with 512 MB GDDR3 memory correct?
In addition I have heard about issues with cracked screens and terrible services, Im buying this on the U.S side so hopefully I wont have the same problems that Im reading about on the UK side but how is the say customer support at USA zepto, I understand its not a big company but do they reply to your emails in a reasonable amount of time?
Ill probably have many more when it comes time for me to purchase something but I just wanted to find out a bit more about such a small vender before I do make a significant purchase.

I don't know about U.S but here in Europe they don't even bother to answer your emails. Live chat is the only contact with them... if you got plenty of time that is. My zepto broke down 3.5 months ago and still waiting for their promised new laptop.

From what I've heard, the service in the US is very good. The owner even comes over to this forum to give info.
About the cracked screens, I never heard about that. Only maybe something with the hinges. -
The nox seems like a really solid system. Some good improvements over their last generation of laptops, which I am also quite happy with. For the power you're getting, that price is pretty low!

Are you referring to me? If I was the owner you would never see or hear from me, I would be riding my bike somewhere in florida wearing a fur coat and $1000 armani shoes. Alas my dream of simply knocking my empty glass off the table each time I wanted a refill while dining out will have to wait as I am just the sales manager. The owner does post from time to time but his user name is slightly different than mine, most people dont notice though.
Also this seems like a good opportunity to let everyone know I am running a 5% off special for the next 25 customers, offer is good until next monday. You will need to call me for the coupon code. 800-990-1822 - Dave -
The 9600 we use is 512mb ddr3. the numbers we have posted for the 3dmark scores are conservative.
For reference the 9650gt i tested the other day had back to back 6049 and 6050 3dmark scores
I have screen shots too.
Really the only issue we have had is lack of availability and a small issue with the plastic hinge covers cracking or breaking, but it is becoming less of an issue. We stand behind the units 100% and we will take care of any issues you may have as quickly as possible. I only have two issues that I know about and they havent been fixed because I am waiting on inventory before I can do so. No product on the market is 100% perfect and we know that, we just try to fix the issues as fast and as easily as possible. -
alright thats nice to know, as long as it can/will be fixed if it ever comes up its nice to know
dont want to buy a laptop that dies on me 6 months later and I cant reach the source where I bought it or even find a place to buy replacement parts -
Well atleast someone from the US department is here for info. I think you posted more messages here then zepto dk mailed to their customers in the last 3 months.
-
In the Netherlands their al also 2 / 3 issues with the hinges..
-
Haha so true.. I would really prefer to buy from ZeptoUSA if i werent danish because they seem to be a whole other company.. Zepto.dk is just horrible customer service.. It should be illegal to serve so bad service.
-
Well as they state themselves, each Zepto reseller is their own company. The only thing common between them is that they sell the same computers.
If i'd live in the US, i wouldn't hesitate for a moment to buy from Zepto USA. The guy has even helped me out even though i live 1/3 of the globe away. -
That is not totaly true. I think the US repairs all of the maillfunctions of the laptops they sell, but the dutch reseller only repairs a small part of the problems. They are just not allowed by the main office in DK to do all of it. They would like to, but they can't. So for things like changing the screen or graphics card, they computer will have to be shipped to DK. With the US reseller it always stays there (correct me if I'm wrong)
-
I can't speak for our EU partners, but we do all repairs ourselves. We have every part on stock which we exchange with Zepto DK from time to time.
At this moment our turnaround time for repairs is 5-7 business days. We will try to keep it that way. -
Dude you make me cry. The repair time for zepto dk is 5-7 workWEEKS.
-
Move to America.. I could always use a good salesman
-
Hehe ill keep that in mind. Dont think the gf will go for it though
-
I thought that was the time for them to reply an email ?
-
It is actually the same, because the first mail they send is the UPS tracking nr. from when your laptop gets send back.
