I really (read: really really really) wanted a 6615. I have umm'd and ahh'd for many weeks over the decision before I finally decided to buy one.

So I go to the website and customise my monster machine. In excitment, with my credit card ready, I click the "Buy" button... only to be comfronted with a screen reminding me that I should have left some call back details so someone at Zepto can ring me to take payment.

That itself was a little odd, since no mention of having to leave these details was present on any page before the 'order confirmation' one. It's also a bit strange how they don't take payment over the web. But hey, the laptop is a high spec for a good price, so what if it's a little weird?

So I wait. And I wait. No call. I have received a single voicemail asking me to call them, but everytime I try all the lines are busy. So instead of being excited that my laptop should be arriving any day now, I'm left with the feeling that my order isn't important. Or maybe my money isn't good enough? This might sound like a bitter rant (probably because it is) but I fell that I'm now left with having to spend almost twice as much on a Rock or a Dell simply because I can't give Zepto my money.

But I *want* to give Zepto my money, that's what makes it so maddening.

Has anyone else suffered from this? Does anyone know a number that I can call that stands the chance of being answered?

    Thanks in advance.

Weird. I suppose Zepto offers a bit different payment methods depending on your home country (at least for us Finns there's this clever pay @ post), which payment method were you trying to use?

Hi JediTom. What country are you in and are you ordering internationally?

I'd shoot them a quick email to let them know of the problem. I assure you that they will happily take your money unless there is some sort of problem that we are not seeing here.

I wanted to just use a normal Visa credit card. My problem isn't the method of payment, my problem is trying to get in touch with Zepto to give them that payment.

I object to being left on hold for 10 minutes and more when I'm having to phone an international number.

To be honest, I was actually hoping for one of the Zepto guys to respond to this message with a phone number that was (more) likely to be answered.

Edit: I'm in the UK and I ordered from the uk.zepto.com site. Also the harddisk I want is back in stock now, I wonder if they'll update my order if/when I get through... I shall try sending them an email and see what happens.

Yeah why don't they just take payments online like any normal company, just shows how much of a joke their system is.

In this day and age no one should have to give their credit card details over the phone, ESPCIALLY not to anyone in the digital trade.

If they can afford a web designer to make their site surely they can pay him a little more to add on a payment system which is FREE.

    Idiots.
