Hi,
I am considering buying soon a laptop with a SSD instead of a HDD. The bandwidth of the current SSDs is typically around 100Mb/s but this is growing fast. MTRON recen announced 260-240MBps for early 2009.
The theoretical limits of SATA is 150Mb/s so, for my next laptop, I would clearly prefer SATA-II (up to 300Mb/s).
I looked at the technical specs of some of the Zepto laptops but they are not very detailed. The proposed disks are usually indicated as being SATA (so probably version I) but there are no indications about the capabilities of the laptop themselves.
Does anyone know if any of the current or incoming Zepto laptops support SATA-II?
Unlike servers, laptops are usually not designed for very fast IOs so I am also worried that the real bandwidth could be a lot lower than the theoretical maximum. Are there any benchmarks showing the maximal bandwidth of some Zepto laptops?

We don't yet know the full specifications of the next generation of the Zepto notebooks but, considering that the design of the Zepto Nox is aimed to maximise performance, I would expect SATA II to be available. Some of the existing notebook HDDs already support SATA-II, but the faster interface does increase the power consumption slightly.
We should know more by the end of next week.

Thanks.
Does the Nox A15 implement SATA-II. The web site is not really detailed. Do you know if the specs can be found somewhere?
Also, would you know if Zepto is planning to offer soon other SSDs than the MTRON? I am of course thinking about the brand new OCZ Core Serie -

As discussed in this thread, one of our members hopes to receive a Nox on 10th July. We will then start to find out more details.
