    Hi all

My new laptop keeps going into standby.

Its running windows XP and on AC power or battery goes into standby when it feels like it.

Its on my lap and seems to be when I tilt the screen back or front alittle.

The screen goes blank and then powers down into standby mode unless I move the laptop or move the screen.

Its not the power settings within windows XP because I dont use standby on AC or battery.

It seems like the laptop thinks i've shut the screen down. How does the screen switch work and where is it....

The laptop is only 1 month old

    Thanks

Its getting worse. If I move the screen the laptop goes blank and you can just see the display and then it goes into standby.

Can you try to change the setting for "close lid"
change the setting todo nothing and see if it still goes in to sleep.
