I've recently purchased a Zepto Znote 6214W but after 1-2 weeks of me receiving it, the backlight of the LCD screen has stopped working.

The actual screen is still working - if you shine a lamp onto the screen you can see that it is switched on and running windows, but you can not see it if you do not directly have a light source above the screen.

Additionally, the backlight seems to work for approximatly 1-2 seconds every time the laptop screen is switched on, but then immedietly switches off and does not come back on again.

There was no direct cause for the backlight failing - it was working fine for the past 2 or so weeks but upon taking the laptop out of standby one day I noticed that it wouldn't switch on. No sort of physical damage has been done to the laptop and I have not installed any new screen or graphics drivers.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? And will I need to send it back to Zepto? And will I have to pay to send it back even though I have only had it for about 2 weeks?

    Thanks.

I would give them a call, and hear what they thing. It sounds like some kind of defect. I never heard of the backlight just turning off.

    Cheers

On the countrary it's a common problem on notebooks, but usually it's due to wear of years of open/close of the screen.

the backlight is quite easily changeable, however you can't do it yourself, but its a fast swap.

however i would agree with DGIGLIO that it normally wouldnt happen so fast, more likely after a couple of years.

im not always the best on support, because i dont sit there even though i try to focus a lot on the day to day side as well as improving our general business, but in your case pop a mail to [email protected], and tell him i asked you to so he doesnt wonder. There might be a quick fix for it, you havent touched something in the bios?
