Hi, I have a very annoying issue with my new Znote 6224.

Every time I use the Mute button ( FN+F7 ) or the volume up/down my desktop locks up.
I can see that applications are still running and that windows works but I can't click on anything or activate any window.

Neither by using my mouse or the touchpad.
    Cursor still moves around though.
Only thing I can do is use the power button to shutdown and restart.

I've tried to reinstall XP and it works for a while but after just one or two days it locks up again..

I have no hardware conflicts and all drivers are up to date.
Even tried using 3 different version of the audio driver.

    This is extremley annoying! :(

After one more reinstall of XP I noticed that this starts to happen after I have lost connection ( for unknown reason ) to any of my shared folders on my other computers on my lan.

This happens both on wireless and on wired connection.

Maybe the network cards and the soundcard share the same irq and therefore it breaks something... who knows.
But I doublechecked this and it all works untill one of the shared network folders "loses connection"

I have no clue to why I loose contact with those mapped drives.
Have tried to remove and re enable the shares with no positive results..

I began having the same problem about a week ago. it is really annoying as the only way to fix it is to restart the computer. i only realized today that it was the special volume keys on my hp branded compaq 6710b. THis must be a mass error with a driver or bios or something. if you find a fix pls let me know

I would start with making sure you have the latest touchpad driver (from Synaptics?).

I recall some past user-interface problems on other computers coming from this source.
