    Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a ZNote 6224W or 6324W (Is the only difference the colour?) and I have a few questions before I do if anyone has one, preferably the UK version I'd appreciate it if you can answer any of them:

Firstly, the most important bit for me: Is it noisy? I don't care if the DVD Drive is noisy but noisy Fans/HDD drive me crazy.

Second, does anyone have any pictures of the UK keyboard? I've seen lots of different variations but I don't think I've seen the UK one, as this is going to be used as a secondary programming machine key position, especially "; [ ] ( ) + - , *" is also very important, hitting wrong keys wastes lots of time :p.

...and a few other little bits like, do you have to add the AC Adapter separately under the "Charges" tab, or is this a spare? If I add a "6 Cell Battery" Under accessories is this a 2nd battery? Is the 8600 GFX defiantly a 8600 GT 512mb because once you have it in the basket it doesn't mention the exact model.

    -----------------------------------------

I also seem to have read a lot of messages lately about them overheating and having very bad support... has anyone here experience this? I've emailed them a few times and got a reply back within 12 hours which is pretty impressive, but then again that was their "sales" email, not "support for after you've bought" email.

Any answers would be great, Thanks :D

I'd get a hybrid-HDD if you really want to cut down on the noise. I can't vouch for its reliability, but according to the specs so far it does.

Fujitsu are also really quite but I'm not sure if they make 2.5" for notebooks. Sorry.

BRIANBW. An ac adapter is included when you purchase any of our machines. The option to buy one would be a 2nd charger, the same goes for the battery. Any 6224 model with have the 512MB 8600 GT graphics card included.

    BrianGW,

I have an 6224 on order that should be arriving soon, I will post a review in full. All I can say to you, is that the support/ service communication has been second to none. I ordered 24mts CRB (collect & Return to base warranty) and have every confidence in their UK base. 14 day refund\exchange period if you were unhappy with the notebook.

The reason I initially ordered with Zepto was the custom build feature & the choice of parts to make it up. The Graphics for the 6224 is a nVidia 8600GT 512Mb, the screen resolution is 1440x900 on a 14" area means excellent resolution. Santa rosa mother board, 300mbit WiFi, built-in bluetooth, 10/100/1000 Gigabit lan, Express slot, dual core etc etc etc... an excellent spec platform.

I would say why get a slot drive? I've ordered a tray, I'm a technical person and know a slot system to be harder to deal with.

Environment Fee, means Zepto do not put an operating system on your laptop, you have too.

Thanks for the replies, I look forward to your review viiper. I changed the slot drive back to tray, I think I added slot because I was checking how much it cost with everything maxed and forgot to downgrade that back. I didn't add an operating system because I have a MSDN subscription so I have a few spare licences.

Are you really able to return it for a refund if unhappy before 14 days? I've not known any customizable shops that allow you to do that (they probably change their return policy after you've bought it :p)

Anyway, thanks again, I'll wait for your review before ordering. Hopefully it'll be positive. :)

actually the "Enviroment fee" is about that the machines are completely within the RoHS sepcifications.

BrianGW, yes you can return the laptop with 14 days as long as it's in about same condition as when you recieved it, so the parts can be used again. If not money will be deducted from the full price for the parts we can't use again.

Speaking of the OS - if an operating system is chosen in the configurator, do we get an OEM copy of that OS or a full retail version? (i.e. as if it had been bought separately in a shop?)
