Hi,
I have had this computer for almost a year now, and suddenly it refuses to go into sleeping-mode and when shuting down normaly it starts itself after a few seconds.
When closing the lid the computer turns itself off, making windows shut down improperly.
I tought it mght be some problems in windows (Vista Ultimate x64) so I have now made a fresh install of Windows 7 but the same problem persists.
I have resett to default values in BIOS but with no luck. I have the latest BIOS available on Zeptos ftp.
Any suggestions?

My girlfriend's Zepto had the same problem a while ago. Only solution i could come up with was a pure re-installation of the OS. =(

thanks for reply.
That's how I have spent my last 2 hours, installing and configure Windows 7 Build 7057, and then to discover the problem is still there. -
Have you tried both sleep mode and hibernation?
-
Just tried it.
It goes into hibernate, and resumes by itself after a few seconds.
I thought it might be the graphic drivers, so I installed the one found at Zeptos FTP, but no difference. I have set BIOS to Default again, and is by now totally untouched.
I made all this before trying hibernate.
Thanks for your reply Megatron.
edit.
- Sleep-mode without power cord: It shut itself down improperly, but did not restart.
- Sleep-mode with power cord: It shut itself down improperly and starts again after a few seconds.
- Hibernate with power cord: It goes into hibernate, and resumes by itself after a few seconds.
- Hibernate without power cord: It goes into hibernate, and stays there.
- Sleep-mode without power cord: It shut itself down improperly, but did not restart.

I used to have a problem with my 6224W immediately coming out of hibernation, which may be related. There are various threads on that subject. This is one (62x4W and 6625WD are essentially the same hardware).

Thanks for your reply.
I did as suggested in the other thread and installed the latest chipset-driver, but that didn't do any difference.
Any other suggestion? -
As you've reinstalled the operating system, reset the bios to default and tried all manner of different drivers. I would suggest that this may be hardware related. It could also be Windows 7 related, but as I'm running Windows 7 with no probs on my 6324W I don't think this could be the case. Incedentally, the only driver I had to install was the graphics card in Win7. Windows found the rest for me with no problems. One question though, do you have an intel turbo meory module installed? there are numerous reports that these do not work correctly with Win7 as of yet, so maybe that could be the cause of your problem. Disabling it in the bios doesn't always do the trick. I had to physically remove mine otherwise the device manager still saw it.

I would also suggest trying removing the Turbo Memory, if present. I think it was the cause of some problems I had. It's quite plausible that the BIOS support for it was (and is) buggy.

Thanks for replying.
I'm not aware that I have any Turbo Memory installed. I looked in device manager but couldn't find anything that says something about Turbo Memory, do you know the exact name and in which category it could be?
I have also made sure that AHCI is disabled in BIOS. I have never enabled it.
btw, I'm back in Vista x64 now. It's the same setup as before, I had made a backup image. -

From memory, Turbo Memory should show up as another storage device pls a big cache on the HDD. There's also a Robson setting in the BIOS which needs to be enabled.

No such thing, unfortunately(?)
Thanks for trying to help. -
Hi again,
Just wanted to tell you what has happening.
I contacted Zeptos support and they thought it was best to RMA the computer because it was proberly a hardware issue. I did a complete reinstall of windows and the problem where still there. 23 June it sent the computer.
They promised it wouldnt take more then 15 working days to get the computer fixed. The only thing I had recieved was a issue number from InfoCare on 8 July, which handles Zeptos reparations. I contacted Zepto 23 July and asked what was happening.
They told me they had nothing to do with the reparation and said I should contact InfoCare, which I did. InfoCare said they hadnt recieved the computer from Zepto yet, strange I thought, because they hade given me and issue number and had all my contact info 2 weeks ago.
I emailed Zepto again and on 24 July they once again told me they had nothing to do with it, contact InfoCare. I replyed and said its up to them to investigate what was happening because they deliver the computer and rae responsible for the reparation. They are the one that gives me the gaurantee, not InfoCare.
2 hours later they the emailed me with an explanation why it hade taken so long time and said that InfoCare had recieved the computer the day before, 23 July, 1 month after I sent it.
Zepto coudlnt find out who the computer belonged to because the RMA number I had wrote on the package were to old. Noone ever told me about any new RMA number when I emailed them and said I could send it in, apparnetly they tried to make it my fault...
They almoast send the computer back to me but they had finally managed to open the package and found the note with all my contact and issue info. How can this take 2 weeks? The got the computer from UPS after ~5 days.
Suddenly InfoCare's issue status says that the computer is recieved and will be done before 30 July.
25 July the status changed to complete and no hardware error where found when testing with their test disk. Too bad I thought and emaild both InfoCare and Zepto 27 July to ask if I could get a summary of what were tested. I waited a week and got no reply. I emailed them again 4 August and have yet not got any reply.
I finally got my computer back at 4 August. It took 30 working days to found out that there are no hardware error, even though I cant manage to find any software error aswell.
I'm still waiting for a replay from Zepto with maye an excuse for a double reparation time and maybe an explanation of what was tested...
I just wanted to share this with all of you, in case you have to send the computer for reparation. I will not take 15 working days for sure, and you will never get an error report.
Honestly, I think this really suck. I paid ~$1100 for a non working computer and a support that dont gives a about their costumers...
