The 6324W is the same as the 6224W except for the colour and has the same chassis as the 6024W. There are several reviews of these notebooks around.

I'm wondering how they got the weight down to 4.5lbs (~2kg). Did they leave out the battery? And the 0.95" thickness must be at the front without the display. So I'm wondering whether it is the same chassis.

The chassis of the 6x24W needs optimum conditions to handle the heat from the 8600M GT and I would be concerned that the Impulse, if it has a thinner chassis, would have bigger thermal problems.

That said, if it is the same chassis, then it is quite solid and durable. The keyboard isn't the best and we are waiting for Inventec (the manufacturer) to properly debug the BIOS.

There seems to be quite a lot of copy/pasted text on that site:

    http://pcmicroworks.com/impulse.htm

To the left it says it's a 17" screen.

They also seem to offer it with Core 2 Duo Extreme 2,8ghz X9000

Biggest problem I can see is the gpu getting too hot. Air flow is not so good with my 6324 and as the Impulse uses the same chassis (and presumably the same mobo as well) it too will suffer.

dont selling it doesnt mean, that the mobo wont support it

In the beginning they outranged the >2ghz Meroms like t7500 and t7700 because of cooling issues so they would be silly now selling it with an extreme proc and the impuls uses the same cooling system as it uses the same chassis^^

Nope, that was due to BIOS not being able to handle those processors.

zepto germany said it was due to thermal issues, besides we got several 6x24s with T7500 cpus

Not necessarily. The cooling system may be different with these as it is not entirely down to the chassis. It will be the same position for the actual heatsink in the case, but it may use a different route for the heatpipes, using the same heatpipe for the CPU and chipset as the GPU is a distinct possibility and may prove more efficient than the tiny heatsink for the GPU in the Znote.
