    Hi

I bought my 6324 one year ago, and this summer I started having som heat related issues: the laptop turned itself off instantly, no warning. I have a intel t7700 2,4ghz core duo and geforce 8600m gt with vista 32bit.
I didn't look into it then, but when i played Bioshock the other day, the thing shut itself down again. So i looked into it and found that cleaning wouldn't do any wrong. So now I can play, no problem, temperatures of my cores don't exceed 94 degrees celsius, while my gpu got as high as 96 degrees. Is this normal? I also read something about high dpc latency. Without really knowing what that is, i downloaded the dpc latency checker and the results are shown in the pic. Are all these figures normal?
updated all my drivers from zeptos ftp. Also tried to update BIOS, burned the image on a dvd but but when i chose the disc at the boot menu, it just booted normally, no blue screen like the pdf-file said i was going to have.
    Anyone?

My 6314W used to rise to at least 98 degrees while playing HL2, so i think it's fine. I'm remembering that with these models the temperature level for throttling is 110 degrees.

One thing which might add temperature into your system is that T7700 processor.. It's rather powerfull for such a little computer, there were some problems with those in the past.

The temps are that high. I e-mailed zepto service when i was playing age of conan and asked about temps. I was hitting a scorching 102 degrees and they said that it was normal. I had some shutdowns also when playing.
The cheapest way out would be buying a laptop cooler.
Also you could undervolt the cpu thread to coolt it down abit. Thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=235824

Try burning the BIOS-update on a cd maybe?

Is that BIOS update a .ISO file. if so you need to use burning software which recognises it as an ISO file, which is an image of the contents of a bootable CD, including the boot files.

    Hi John,

I burned to the dvd using magicISO and the file, named 6324_z14N006 is a .iso file.

I don't think it will work on a DVD, only on a CD.

DVD shouldn't be a problem. Vista comes on a DVD.

Perhaps the next test is to see whether booting from the optical drive is working OK. Try booting from the Windows installation disk. If that won't boot then there's a glitch with the methodology. First select optical drive on the boot menu and then watch for a prompt to confirm booting from the optical drive.

    @John.

I was referring to the ISO image might be CD only. I have seen that bootable CD image wont work after being burnt on DVD and bootable DVD images wont work on CD :)

    Thanks.

That is possible. It is not a problem I have encountered, perhaps because i keep a CD-RW for this type of use.
