    Hi,

I'm not sure if i'm posting this in the right forum, im new to the notebooks scene. But I'm after a laptop which i can work and play games on. The Znote 6625WD and the Znote 6324W are the two i have been looking at.

I'm sort of confused though, i emailed Zepto and they stated that both of these have matte displays, i knew that the 6324W had a matte display but i was quite sure that the 6625WD had a glossy display until Zepto told me that it wasn't. I searched on these forums and saw some pics and some say it had a glossy display compared to the 6224W. I'm not sure who is correct, can any owners confirm this?

what is the build quality like on these?

The 6x24W series is overall well-built and solid (there is some metal reinforcement behind the plastic). The weak link is the keyboard which can feel a bit loose and clattery.

i actually prefer a glossy screen, so im assuming the 6625WD would be better for me, also it has a higher supported resolution, having used a 20" monitor before.

2 GB DDR2 PC5300 Original Zepto Ram - is this just 1 stick?

im wondering whether 1 stick or 2x1gb stick's be better, also considering the possibility of upgrading.

is there any more details on the spec of the Samsung optical drive and the "add ins" TV tuner?

The Tv TUner is Zepto Branded but it is internal so you cannot see it.

Part number 130132 is the only 1 X 2048 piece we do.

Which optical drive do you mean as there are 2 or 3 different types?

On some models there is also 150030 or 150124. There is only 1 choice for the 6625WD

I have the 6625WD and im happy so far, but after some tweaking on the processor and graphics, which I have to look at still. 6625WD is good to game with, i play battlefield 2 complete collection on medium settings with framerates at 50+, rarely under 50 (only when there just simply is too many players at the same place :) )
And Vista with all goodies runs smooth too. I can recommend it. The keyboard is just a bit stiff and plastic (comparing to an old IBM THinkpad A31)

The optical drive is most likely the S N-S082H - that's what came in my 6024W a few weeks back. It seems OK and has given me no trouble. I would have liked one with LightScribe but bare drives with LightScribe are currently hard to find.

What resolution was your 20" monitor? 15.4" WSXGA+ means quite small pixels and therefore text size at the default settings (and formatting in some applications has problems when you change the default dpi setting). I have just moved from that to 14.1" WXGA+ where the pixels are a little bigger. My old eyes are much happier and there's more space on my desk.

1-2h sometimes more. Before I undervolted it it got quite hot underneath but not on the top luckily. After the undervolting and 85% load limit, the framerates dropped to 40-60 and the temperature so dropped down so much that the fan never goes into the highest mode.

and btw, I have a tip if your going to play: Disable the touchpad, it can be to much harm if your playing intense moments (It looks good but the fact that its the same piece of plastic as the palm rests, it easily gets "touched"

    *winkwink to Zepto*
