I'm going to college in the fall, and like just about everyone else, I'm looking for a good notebook computer. I'm going for a good mix of portability and power -- I'm not a hardcore gamer, but i'm very interested in a lot of upcoming pc games. So the main two notebooks I'm looking at are:
Hypersonic Aviator CX6
2 Ghz Pentium M
1 Gig RAM
128 MB Radeon 9700
15.4' WXGA screen
6.5 lbs
(or possibly the CX5 with similar specs - the only real difference is a smaller screen and a higher resolution on the cx5)
Dell Inspiron 8600
2 Ghz Pentium M
1 Gig RAM
128 Mb Radeon 9600 ProTurbo
15.4' SXGA screen
~7 lbs
Which computer would you all recommend? I've had good experiences with Dell, as my family's last two desktops have been Dells. I know basically nothing about Hypersonic but the specs and price look pretty good. Oh, my budget is about $3000, so if you have any other computers you think i should take a look at, I'd appreciate that as well.

Oh, and one more thing, is Hypersonic's "Dead Pixel Insurance" worth it? Are dead pixels really all that common?

I replied to this in the hardware section. You might want to delete this topic and just use the hardware one; it has the broader audience.
