so exactly 2 years and 14 days after I bought my znote 6224w and 14 days after the warranty ran out my 8600m has gone wrong. the symptoms are exactly as reported in the various failure descriptions. dodgy characters misplaced lines. the laptop is completely screwed basically.

anyone have any ideas what my options are?
how much do zepto charge for repair?
I guess its not possible to extent the warranty after its run out?

I'm so pissed off

Why don't you just contact Zepto?

Extend the warrenty? So you can make them repair it for free? Dont think so ;).

Other manufacturers took responsibility for the faulty cards, and extended the warranty in case anything like this happens. Zepto should follow, but i doubt they will. Ring them and let them know what happend.

My issue is slightly different. I sent my Zepto off within warranty due to black screens (intermittent) and many GPU messages. It was returned and I kept getting Windows loading issues as well as GPU issues. It now turns on but doesn't get to the boot screen and is, effectively, useless. I have sent 14 e mails to Zepto and Infocare without response. I got the unit back but am now 7 days out of warranty - anyone know what my options are?

Oh - I forgot. Can anyone give me an e mail address for any of the Directors of Zepto?

ajoc - you can try this one, [email protected] (Thomas Strauss, head of int sales)

I wrote him a formal complaint letter (registered) and whilst he was very quick to call me back, and assuring me they will fix my laptop, they've failed miserably at doing so .

Good luck, and if all fails contact : http://www.forbrugereuropa.dk/english/

    Thanks very much.

All I want is some kind of response. I have sent many e mails to both Infocare and Zepto and nobody has replied despite the fact I have umpteen 'Read receipts'. I guess there is an issue and they do not wish to admit liability.

Unfortunately, I am not the kind of person to go away and will follow this through with maximum publicity on any website I can access and, ultimately, they will fix the idiot machine sitting laughing at me on the dining room table or give me a replacement. Of course, I will expect payment for the Asus I bought earlier because of their inaction.

I can live without a flawed Zepto 6625wd - I refuse to be forced to give up guild leadership of a long-standing guild on Alonsus due to a hardware problem that they, perhaps, already know about.

That's unlucky that the warrenty just ended, but you are lucky it's only broken once. My 6224w has broken 3 times already this year. It spends more time being repaired than being used!

Mines in for repairs the second time now.
Could you not get the money back if it fails three times?

OUt of the blue I received an e mail from Mats Reksten who says the 6625 will be fixed free of charge even out of warranty - we shall see.

Congratulations! I really hope Zepto takes the criticism serious and will treat their customers better in the future (and hopefully learn something from the 8600M-problems). As I told another user on this forum: if there are any hardware-related problems they should take the fight with the manufacturers, not with their own customers.

Let's just hope the rest of the customers with similar problems will get their computers fixed too.. :)

I'm not sure... I've been quite firm with them as I think it's a serious problem and they should sort it, but they haven't replied to me for over a week now.

I've been very firm with Zepto, I've emailed several contacts there - I haven't had a reply for a month now. I hope you have more luck than me!

well they are insisting they can do nothing for me and considering my case closed. they claim that they have replaced some laptops where the gpu has been replaced and then the subsequent gpu has failed and the laptop is out of warranty but the replacement part is in warranty. mine doesn't qualify for this so no go for me apparently. what a bunch of losers. 2 weeks out of warranty... its pretty clear there is a problem du eto the number of failures reported.

anyone got any ideas how I pursue the latent defect approach and getting it replaced that way?

Errr...my earlier post said they would fix it out of warranty. It came back - harware error that said send it back. I received a mail after many chases saying they would not fix it if there was something wrong and I would get a replacement. A few chases later and it was on a technician's table - 3 weeks later...nothing. I cannot get through to them at all and none of my mails get a response - so, now I don't even have a broken laptop. Any ideas?

ajoc, haven't you read that Zepto has filed for bankruptcy? That might be why they haven't answered.

Any ideas how I get my laptop/replacement back?

    I just had a response -

"Sorry but Zepto is closed !
And the layers has taken over so you probably need to contact them !"
