Can I hook up to my laptop, for use when at home, speakers, keyboard, mouse, and a printer? If so how can I tell that I can do this?

If I understand your question correctly....you are asking if you can connect your speakers, keyboard, mouse and printer to your laptop at home.

Most likely this is possibly....it just depends on what ports you have on your laptop and what kinds of peripherals you have.

Speakers....almost for sure you can connect them....just take the (green) cord for sound input and connect to the headphone jack on your laptop

Printer.......if you have a usb/firewire printer....just connect it through your usb/firewire ports....in most cases you will have to install it with the drivers disc provided by the manufacturer....if you have an old printer with serial or parallel connectivity....you need these ports on your laptop....if your laptop is new....you likely won't have the necessary port.

Keyboard/mouse....again if you have usb devices....it is as easy as connecting them to the laptop's ports......these devices are generally plug and play (no installation needed)....if you have ps2 devices (six pin connector)......then you need to have these ports on your laptop....newer laptops do not generally have these ports
