hey guys (audio problem, sorry for the typo)
my sound still works for most applications, but just recently i keep getting a system beep noise when i change my volume using the tasktray volume icon and when i receive mail in Outlook. They used to have specific sounds rather than these annoying system beeps. This happens using earphones and the built in speakers. Any ideas? Should i uninstall my audio drivers and reinstall?
thanks a bunch,
hgct

Reinstalling your drivers is definitely the first step. If that doesn't work, call our 24/7 telephone tech support at 1-877-944-4449 or email them at [email protected]

Thanks Donald, i'll give that a shot

I was thinking that something got corrupted in your audio settings. You know, where you choose which sound is used for certain events. Reinstalling the driver would be even better.
I'm only posting (since Donald has already taken care of you) because I was wondering why you were having problems with your car (fixed now
).

Mine did that too for a while; I just opened the windows mixer thing and put the PC Beep volume slider really really low.

I found that having PC beep on gave me a noticeable amount of white noise when I had my headphones plugged in. When I first got my computer, before I discovered PC beep in the volume control, I never heard those beeps...

Maybe it's your early warning indicator from your super fast downloads?
To both Lt. Glare and Thread Starter:
Just as an FYI, I don't have a PC beep on my system in the advanced volume controls.. I never noticed it until now.. Did you recently update your drivers or anything?
I'm running the latest off the bizcom site. You didn't by chance let windows update your driver when you weren't looking? -
Woah! I never thought of that. It's a indicator from Microsoft, warning me that my internet is too slow for the 21st century, or that I'm paying too much for such crappy service...
I've always had PC beep in the volume control. With the stock drivers, the updated ones, and even in a brief stint when I used HEL80 drivers to see if there was any difference between them and the HGL30 ones, it's always been there... -
yeah i just found them in the options... good call lt. glare. that'll do for now. i can't download yet as my internet hasn't been working for the last two days ***.

Hmm.. well, there goes my idea... I wouldn't be able to mute it if I had the problem, since it's not an option for me
