Sometimes it just stop responding and complitly freez . Even ctrl-alt-del does not work. Only power-off is working[]
What is going on?

if it is a recent problem use the restore function and go back in time before the last few software installations. If it has been a continuous problem reload the recovery cd's. It is usually a software compatibility issue. You could try updating windows first.

It came with XP Home and wos freezing very offen. When I ran HL2 It freeze 100%
I install Windows 2000 PRO. I became much better but sometimes it keeps freezing and does not matter what I'm doing on it.
What can be with it? -
Try updating your graphic driver with the omega drivers. It is currently the best driver you oculd try for your radeon.
http://www.accesswave.ca/~sruxton/drivers/rad_w2kxp_omega_2625a_7z.exe
Next stop if your problem is not fixed is installing sp2 (if you are currently having win xp installed) and other fixes via windows update. This could take a while, but is known to fix problems.
I would also recommend reloading the recovery CDs, the drivers that shipped with your laptop are known to be good, except for the wireless driver which could cause connection drops, but not freeze the whole unit. If the laptop is still freezing with the fresh recovery, I would guess overheat, or some other hardware problems. If that's the case, check if you have your warranty, and give Averatec's support a call. -
Mostly it's happening when HD is using hard. What can I do?
-
Your notebook could be overheating
1.) Clean laptop using Ubercams guide
2.) Prop up laptop or use a laptop fan mat.
Those might help you -
The laptop is new! In it can happen even when I just start it up so it has not time to warm up[:0]
-
If I were you I would buy a notebook cooler, buy more memory and your freezing troubles should go away. I've had this notebook since September of 04 and it has never frozen on me.

Vitality,
Have you contacted averatec support on this matter? I would give them a try and see if they have anything to offer. If not, and it's new, I would consider returning it for another one.

A new laptop with a fan full of dust! Something isn't adding up here. Get it exchanged if you can. There may be other things wrong with it.
-
Not realy new. It half year old. But freezing problem was from the begining. Do not ask why did not I exchanged it.
-
Can it freeze because they use PC2700 memory with FPS 800mgz CPU?
May be memory is too slow? -
Hey just wanted to address this, bought this laptop about 6 months ago and had the same problem trying to play sims 2...freezing a minute into the game. I tried returning the laptop but to no aval., so I simply down graded the video driver with a Radeon 9200, and it worked fine. However, ever since avertec posted the new video driver, the freezing has been replaced with many tiny artifacts when u move around in the sims 2 game.

My solution to my 6130hs-20 problems was to get it fixed with my Product service plan, get it back and sell it and use the money to pay for the ibook i bought.
