My screen has developed strange geometric patterns. Does anyone know of a good source to find a replacement screen? Will other averatec 12.1 inch screens work on my 2200 even if they are a different model? There are other broken models of averatec laptopsavailable on ebay with the same screen size.
    Thanks for your help Randy

I learned this from bitter experience, but don't assume that all laptops of a particular model use the same screen; OEM laptop manufacturers may use two or more makes of screens manfactured from different sources during the time of production -- the Averatec 2200 series being an example -- I know, for I learned the hard way. Since you'll have to do this regardless, remove your defective screen and look at the label on the back; the 2200 series will use either a Samsung LTN121W1-L01, or a CHIMEI N12111-L02. If you need tips on removal, let me know.

Replacement LCD sellers will list screens by the laptop model, but once more you don't want to rely on that system, since there's a good chance you'll be sent an incompatible screen, which may be less than useless (it may fry your signal cable). The better sellers will also index screens by the manufacture of the actual screen on their web-sites. I have used blisscomputers.com whenever I've had occasion to replace a screen, and have been pleased with the results so far -- no dead pixels or blotches. However, I don't know how the company rates generally, but you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that this wasn't a compensated endorsement!
