Hello. I just got my HEL80 and I have been playing with the camera. I know this might be stupid, but is there any built in software to record videos? Or just pictures? What's some good software for using these things? Also, is it just me or is not a very good one? I was playing with a sony vaio ($1,400) and it was much better quality. I believe it was also a 1.3 megapixel. Is there anyway to improve the quality? So far I'm loving my new laptop, though. thanks!

Windows Movie Maker. It should be one of the last things under "All Programs." Open the program and on the left side choose "Capture from video device." Choose Integrated Camera as your device and there you go. That's actually the first thing I did when I opened up the box. Haha

I think the video quality is pretty good. I haven't had a problem with it, even when chatting with multiple people viewing it.

That seems obvious. It still doesn't record at the quality I'm looking for. When I move my head or blink, it's all blurred. Not to meantion the audio, which is barely comprehendible. I've tried using it for speech recognition software, but the software won't even try with it. Am I just expecting too much from an intergrated camera? Thanks for your help!

The camera is meant to be more of a webcam than anything. It's only set for VGA-quality images. Expecting high-quality images from this type of device will only leave you disappointed. All laptops with integrated cameras are equipped with the same level of camera.
