I've known Ivan for 3-4 years. He's a good person and they run a top notch service outfit over there. I'd have zero qualms about buying one of their branded machines or the Sony units they now sell.

I have never experienced comparable customer service from any other merchant. Their support is not only stella pre-sale but afterwards, when it counts even more. Coupled with competitive prices for generally higher-end merchandise, I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I recently received my MX from Portable One and it's been great! Ivan and his team definately have the best customer service. Although it took about 6-7 weeks for delivery, I am thoroughly satisfied with their service.
The reason it took so long is that there was a flaw with the display causing the transflective treatment to bubble slightly in one corner. This did not pass P1's quality assurance so they worked on trying to remove the bubble. After unsuccessful attempts, P1 sent the display back to the manufacturer to be fixed. When the display was returned, P1 still found the bubble problem. They discovered that the display had a slight warp causing the bubble problem. P1 had the entire display replaced from the manufacturer and when they were satisfied that everything was perfect, sent it to me via overnight express.
Again, excellent customer service! -

Great products, great quality, great service and support.
If you have even the slightest interest of buying from P1, just do it. It'll save you alot of extra hassle and needless grief

I ordered an MX (A8JM) from Portable One back in July, and I've used it daily ever since. The service at every step of the process was as good or better than with any company that I've ever dealt with. I'm in my 40's so that's a few decades of customer service to compare with. Emails were returned promptly, phone calls were answered quickly by knowledgeable and helpful people, at no point was I made to feel stupid due to my lack of "tech savvy," and when a problem occurred (which was in no way the responsibility of P1), they went above and beyond what was necessary to satisfy me as a customer. I know that I'm a small fish, but P1 has a customer for life.
I'll talk more about the actual laptop in another thread; this is just to say thanks to Ivan, Patrick, and everyone else who was so helpful, and to encourage anyone who is considering doing business with this fine company. -
I know I have posted about their unparalleled customer service before, but they never cease to impress me!
A key popped off my daughter's UX Wednesday and she was unable to snap it back on. One quick phone call (answered within a couple of rings by a real person) and I explained the situation; I was told how to try to reseat it and to call back if it didn't work and they would ship out a new one. I called them back to tell them she was unsucessful and a new keyboard was at her apartment Thursday morning. I was told that it was very easy to replace and to have her call and they would talk her through it, but that if she had any problem they would send a tech. They were right- it was very easy- never having opened a computer before, within 10-15 minutes she replaced the keyboard with their great instructions.
The contrast to other companies is marked. Their products are top notch (my daughter uses her laptop every day, in and out of a messenger bag crammed with books, and her UX is as solid as the day it arrived). If there is any issue (even software related) they take whatever time is necessary to make sure the problem is worked out - you never hear "it's not our responsibility" or "contact so and so and see if they can help you because it isn't a hardware issue," and they listen to the problem without simply saying the old favorites: "reformat and/or it must be a virus." You really get tech support from them; they also follow up on any issues, sending an e-mail to check that things are ok; if tweaking needs to be done, you can call back and talk to the same person without having to start from step one all over again.
Even the best made computers will have issues at some point if they are used enough, but it is very reassuring that when a problem arises you won't be wasting hours on the phone holding, going through needless steps, arguing, etc. They treat you like your time is valuable and make sure your problem is resolved as expeditiously as possible.
Top quality merchandise, customizable configurations, fair pricing and easy to reach, caring customer support - what more can you ask for from a company? I am generally the hypercritical consumer and I have recommended Ivan (and the rest of his staff) and Portableone over and over. If you decide to buy from them, IMHO, you've made a smart decision!
