just wondering if there is a windows setting that i can use to somehow get the fan to stop whirling like crazy.... otherwise i can't bring this laptop to class....

There's not a windows control for the fan. You could try reducing the number of active processes though, which would reduce processor load. Also be sure it's clean inside so air can flow freely.

I bring my laptop to class there is no fan or what so ever. It is so easy to make the fan not spin. I'm assuming that you are running at Maximum speed of 1.5ghz and at voltage of 1.75 volt i belive that's the standard... All you have to do is make it spin around 400-600 and at a relatively lower voltage. Since you are going to be doing only typing class right, or some video editing, if video editing i usually turn it to 1ghz at lower voltage. It will prevent your fan from spinning also get 2 software cooler, and yes it make a difference! even though i didn't measure it, but i can even feel the difference. For further information ask, because i have to do something right now. Homework damn i hate school.
what grade u in, i'm in gr11 right now, damn it is hard. Lol probably easier than U but oh well still gotta try hard.
