My Averatec 3500 works very well. I'm happy with it with one exception: it drops the wireless connection every 5 - 6 minutes. The signal is still there; I can reestablish the connection immediately. But I can't figure out why it is dropped so frequently. It's very irritating since I always connect using wireless.

This does NOT happen with my Dell laptop. Nor is the signal weak. Usually the connection is identified as "excellent" or very strong.

    Anyone know what's going on?

If the wireless mini-pci card is a "Ralink 2500 series" 11b/g. Make sure you have the latest drives. Then check ralink web site, too.

Also make sure your power managment is not droping power to it.

even though you only have this problem with one computer, it wouldnt hurt to make sure your router has the latest firmware. that fixed the problem for me.
