    Nope.

Not if you are referring to the driver off of ATI's website.

    Try an omegadriver.

You CAN install the ATI original driver for this notebook and radeon mobility 9600! BUT, i cannot get it to display 1280 by 800 like the omega's can...

Here's how to get it to install. Got to ATI and download the newest drivers. Go to this link http://www.driverheaven.net/patje/ and download Moblity Modder. Instructions are on that page on how to complete installation.

If anyone trys this and can 'force' or somehow get it to display 1280 by 800 please inform me some how. Untill then I'll be using Omega's.

    Peace,
    Wolfskin

No problem. If anyone can get the real ATI drivers to install at 1200 by 800 please let me know, i got a 50% framerate increase in 3dmark05, so i'd like to use them. Also, does anyone know when they will make new omega ones on 5.1 drivers?

One last thing, what does the F3 button do? When i use it (Fn + F3) it does nothing. Thanks

    wolfskinbjc,

Omega's release of the 5.1 can happen at any time. He used to be able to get them posted within days of the newest release. But as his popularity has increased, it takes him a bit longer (recently up to a few weeks).I might sticky the link to the site when available. I'd suggest 2 things for Omega; 1) watch his site...when available he'll have the mirrors set up for the downloads. 2) hit his sponsor links or drop him a paypal donation.

As for the Fn+F3 (on the 6130) is to mute and check the battery status...but I havent used it until this very post...and it dosent work! Seems like a BIOS bug to me. Anyone else?

    Thats the million dollar question!

Averatec support dosen't seem to have the slightest idea about flashing the BIOS. Nor, IMO, do they give a squat.

There have been a few posts and fourm members that have touched on this subject. One member even flashing with what would seem to be a compatible BIOS upgrade...with miserable results (luckily it was a store machine).

The BIOS is listed to be manufactured by American Megatrends Inc., and the mobo by Uniwill. Searches from both companies websites will supply BIOS info...but I dont trust those.

Maybe if enough of us bother Averatec, they might post a BIOS upgrade that works on their site. although I think this is wishful thinking, since the dont even have truly updated drivers for some of the hardware (granted they work, but still).
