    Hi there,

my HEL80 is running like a charm for about a year now but these days I experienced a clock problem for the second time...

I realised it this morning, becaus I use my mobile phone as an additional alarm clock and was wondering wheter I really turned it off after getting up - when the alarm went off a bit more than an our too late. The source of the error was easily detected: I synced th phone yesterday evening and after further investigations I found that my system clock was totally messed.

I had this problem some time ago and can't remember how I fixed it... or even if I did something to fix it. When I set the correct time (Windows XP), it won't last very long and the system time is behind the real time again - the clock is defnitely too slow...

Has anyone experienced anything like that?

    Greets,

    Salix

first try changing the battery in your computer...it's a little coin watch type battery.

if that doesn't work, there is a program called karen's time sync that might help a little.

lastly, check your hardware clock in the BIOS and see if is more accurate..if it is, this represents a software issue and you may need to reinstall XP or check your services.msc and make sure that Windows Time is running

Yes, it is most likely the small CMOS battery on the motherboard.
