    my laptop just showed up 10 mins ago, what do i do first? should i plug it in and not touch it till the battery is charged or can i start banging away on it right away? is there anything i should do to it? im dying to just jump in and play with it but im afraid ill wreck the batttery if i do that, please post suggestions

    ps this is my 1st laptop, im a notebook noob :) finally can do things without being strapped down to my desktop

    I just jumped in and played :) I wouldn't worry about wrecking the battery when you first use it (actually I have no plans on worrying about it at all too much effort). I just got mine a couple of days ago myself and I already loaded around 12gigs worth of application development software. Tell me how you like the screen brightness mine is a little dim but I wanted to see if another newbie like me had the same observation. Also it took around a day before the fingerprint scanner worked for me but now that it does it is great I love it.

    when i first got my machine, i used it on AC without the battery and then put in the battery to charge completely for the first time overnight.
