yet an other one from me.
This is what I would have the two configured as, what do poeple think?
    Personally they are
    cons:
    6214 has only the 6cell
2425w video card is underclocked and i got no idea how to clock
6214 has to have 2*512mb which will make upgrading in future more expensive

    pros:
2425w has a bigger screen (and better resolution possibly) for photoshop and cad work.
6214 has the smaller screen easier for carrying to and from university.
2425w has built in finger scanner for added security and webcam.

the 12cell is pushing it way out of my limit, also I could have the 2425w with the 1gb ram, cause Iam sure that I can afford the 7p extra above my budget

If you are moving it around get the 6214. It is far more portable than the 15.4" notebooks- in my opinion.

whats the screen like?..not sure why I almost have two identical threads now. I'm sure I read somewhere that they are not quite up to what they should be

Yeh from what i have heard the matt screen is pretty poor but the the glossy job is pretty good. Viewing angles are good, no dead pixels, bright but there is a bit of light leakage but it is minimal.

It really isnt as bad as some reviews have said.

how can I change between the gloosy and matt? all is see is the 14" WXGA Crystal Clear 1280x768.
Also since I see that you have it what "extras" d you get? eg play/pause buttons, finger scanner and what not?
Also a bit of confusion in reviews, some say this GPU is underclocked othersay overclocked by 50MHz, any idea?

    how much is p&p?

    thanks for being so helpfull

yeah i was also wondering about the screens, some people have been saying they can get a gloss screen for the 6214W but all i see in the options when ordering is the standard matt. there isn't any way to chang it. is the glossy really better than the matt?

    very confusing
