Yes, one has the 3870 crossfire (dual video cards.) the other does not.
-
theres 4 of them and yea but how does a blu ray player cost 700 dollars between the most expensive one and 1900 dollar one
-
there are alot of different configurations there. more ram in one maybe hard drives processors etc. What are you looking to do? Alienware also sells this computer as the M17. exact same thing except you get to choose a different lid.
-
top 2 have cross fire ati cards like there is 2 of them and the more expensiv of the 2 has bluray and the bottom 2 only have one graphic card and the more expensive of those 2 have a bluray drive
-
I recommend buying bluray and adding it on your own. 3 minute swap out.
-
cheaper too

I'd say it'd cost you around $300-$350
-
wow! 2700 and no cpu/second hard drive or memory
-
I spent 270 on my Blu ray drive.. And newegg is not the place to buy an OCZ. FYI, I picked up the drive from xotic.
-
1) Is Blu ray really worth it?
2) Are there any specific requirements that need to be met when I am looking for a drive?
Can't get one now, a little too rich for my blood, but am just curious for future reference. -
I would check another retailer, the barebones I got started out at 1255 from RK Computers, after all was said it was only 2,000 bucks.
-
newegg is overpriced on these for sure..

One person bought it. You might get it quicker if you use newegg. but not worth it unless money is no issue to you.
-
boy did they jack up the prices at newegg! wow.
Anyways, this is how the naming scheme works:
First batch of letters denotes the chassis (i.e. OCZDIY17A2 = Flextronics W840Di, OCZDIY15A2 = Flextronics W653i).
2nd set of letters denotes the specs and they're organized according to the following:
First letter denotes optical drive: D = DVD, B = Blu-Ray
Second tier of letters (second to fifth letters) denotes GPU: M88XT = ATi MR 3870, M86 = ATi MR 3650
Last letters just tells you the number of GPUs: X2 = 2 GPUs in crossfire (and blank means just one CPU).
So, an OCZDIY17A2- D M88XT = w840di Chassis with a DVD-RW drive and 1 ATi MR 3870, for example, and the OCZDIY17A2- B M88XT X2 would be the ridonculously overpriced version with Blu Ray and two ATi 3870 cards. Now if it were the OCZDIY17A2-B M98XTX2 with that price tag, I wouldn't be complaining...or even just the BM98X2
. Too bad we'll have to wait for about a month or 2 to see if it they would even do it.
difference between these??????
