This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I was wondering, having taken alook at the dissasembly pictures and taking some of my own laptop appart i saw the CIR, infrared port, on the front was built into the mainboard. this made me wonder if there was a way to activate it for use with other remotes without having the tv tuner or is ther some wiring that makes it completely unusable without the tuner card? i did buy something off ebay that came with the HP media buddy receiver and remote but i cant get vista business to install it completely.
