I was wondering, having taken alook at the dissasembly pictures and taking some of my own laptop appart i saw the CIR, infrared port, on the front was built into the mainboard. this made me wonder if there was a way to activate it for use with other remotes without having the tv tuner or is ther some wiring that makes it completely unusable without the tuner card? i did buy something off ebay that came with the HP media buddy receiver and remote but i cant get vista business to install it completely.

    thanks
