el80, vista and new hardware

I have beentrying to find anything that could possibly be causing me multiple problems with my xoticpc el80. first problem i saw was when i boot up vista would sleep even while i was typing or moving the mouse, i disabled the sleep function but still kept sleeping. the next problem i noticed came up after upgrading my bios and installing some updated drivers. whenever i plug in any new hardware like my SD card or a new 4gb jumpdrive, even a usb floppy drive. they all bring up a found new hardware wizard but then never find any drivers for hardware, even usb drives dont come up. has anyone had similar problems? i tried a system restore and reverted my bios back but no luck.

also i have lost use of my brightness keys when in windows which is pretty annoying, anyone know anything that could help?

 

i think the 119 bios fixes the brightness for vista.. at least so it claims in release notes.

eh you mean 118? they dont list 119 and such, either way its not working, works before it boots windows but not after and the sleep problem kinda went away with 116 but is back now that i have 118 back.
